This weeks unsung hero of the week is none other than the Cole Watson. Make sure to tune into wherever you listen to your podcasts on Tuesday, March 21st; as we discuss how discipline lays a firm foundation.

https://www.buzzsprout.com/1697653

What do you do when you have a passion for something in your life? According to Cole Watson you work hard to make sure it becomes a career. Early on in his life he just wanted to play football; even though he was severely undersized as a receiver coming out of high school. With hard work and dedication he earned a scholarship to Newberry College where he succeeded both on and off the field. This in return created an opportunity to play in the CFL and was just the beginning of Cole's professional career. However injury ended his stent as a professional athlete early; but instead of feeling pity for himself, he came back to Newberry to coach the game he loves so much. Cole talks about what it is like to be a college coach during the Covid pandemic; and how he works hard to overcome the fears of leaving regrets on the table. Cole is already establishing himself as a talented coach in the world of football; and he is able to do so because of the foundation that the discipline in his life has laid. We discuss finding your passion, sports, life, and how we are the only ones that truly set limitations on what we can achieve as individuals. Make sure to listen so we can celebrate this weeks unsung hero for their hard work and accomplishments.

This weeks unsung hero of the week is none other than Baptiste Staggers. Tune into this weeks show coming out Tuesday March, 16th as we discuss developing a problem solving mindset.

Going into college, most people tend to already have made their minds up on what they want to do with their life or the career field they want to be in. But what happens when you graduate and you're not exactly sure where you want to go in life. Baptiste Staggers went through a similar transition; he calls it a time at rock bottom for him. He wasn't sure where or what he wanted to do in life, he just knew he was destined for something great. In this time of depression and lostness he started getting back into Gods word and that helped him to start finding his way. Baptiste was not afraid of hard work being a former collegiate tight end on the football field; so he took the challenge head on. He took on different jobs to find his passion. He was in the nursing program in college so he took a job related to that field and then tried management at enterprise. But it wasn't until he found real estate, that he was able to satisfy that itch to find his passion. Being new to the field he has fallen in love with the process of becoming the best real estate agent he can be in the Charlotte, NC area. We talk about sports, life, and how facing these trials helped developed him into who he is today. We also briefly touch on investments and how you can diversify your portfolio at a young age. Make sure to listen and to share his story; so we can celebrate this weeks unsung hero for his hard work and accomplishments.

We live in a society that tends to deem educators as glorified baby sitters. Why is this? What is the cause behind the disrespect? In this episode I bring on former collegiate running back now Elementary teacher; Trey Gregg to discuss these things. We also discuss what teaching is like in the Columbia area and the overall state of educators in the state of South Carolina. Being the only black male in the early ed. program at Newberry College and one of the few in the classroom; he brings in a great perspective and how imperative it is for his students to see someone like him in the classroom. We discuss the positive impact football and sports has had not only in his life but in the life of students all around. Being a middle school football coach he makes comparisons to how teaching and coaching go hand and hand.
