IQRA made history! It performs remarkably well in the September 2023 Social Worker Licensure Exam!

The graduates of Iqra Development Academy have achieved exceptional results in the Social Worker Licensure Exam. According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), out of the 5 first-time examinees from Iqra, 4 passed, resulting in an impressive passing rate of 80%, the highest among private HEIs in BARMM.

This private higher education institution, located in Tamparan, Basak Area-Lanao del Sur, is one of the pioneers in offering a Bachelor of Science in Social Work program in the area. The success of its graduates in the licensure exam highlights the school's dedication to delivering top-notch education.

GOOD NEWS TAMPARAN FARMERS | Shiek Refai Organization Inc. (SROI) of Balut Madiar in Tamparan is one of the BARMM's Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Farmer Organizations (ARBOs) that benefited from a microfinance, foreign-funded project implemented by the Department of Agrarian Reform with the assistance of the Italian government. Tamparan's farmers are fortunate to benefit from the aforementioned capacity-building initiative.

Between August 26 and October 12, 2021, Balut Madiar's Sheik Refai Organization Inc. received more than 1,000 agricultural goods. Additionally, Insha Allah, SROI will get farm gear and equipment in the near future, in addition to expert advice on microfinance management tools and a method for monitoring and evaluating the program's long-term success.

It is encouraging that our farmers now have access to agricultural input financing, farm machinery leasing, and transportation services to help them increase their productivity and income.

There are many people who have made this possible for Tamparan's farmers. The LGU team owes a debt of gratitude to them all for their outstanding leadership and service.

BRIEF HISTORY OF TAMPARAN | Tamparan and its first mayor.

Tamparan, officially the Municipality of Tamparan (Maranao: Inged a Tamparan; Tagalog: Bayan ng Tamparan), is a municipality in the Philippines' province of Lanao del Sur. It has a population of 32,074 people as of the 2020 census.

Tamparan District was established as a normal municipality on September 28, 1960, by Executive Order No. 405 and was subsequently declared an Islamic municipality on June 4, 1984, pursuant to Batas Pambansa (PB) Number 33.

Tamparan is located in the province of Lanao del Sur's eastern region. It is flanked by the Municipality of Taraka on the north, Poona-Bayabao on the south, and Lake Lanao on the west.

Tamparan is roughly 27 kilometers (17 miles) from Marawi City. The route connecting Tamparan and Marawi City passes via the municipalities of Ditsaan-Ramain, Bubong, Buadi-Puso Buntong, Mulondo, and Taraka. Tamparan is also accessible by boat via Lake Lanao.

The Municipality of Tamparan dates all the way back to the Commonwealth Government of the Philippines during the administration of then-President Manuel L. Quezon. President Quezon issued Executive Order No. 592 in 1940, establishing Dansalan (now Marawi City) as a normal municipality and Tamparan as its municipal district, which included the areas (now municipalities) of Masiu, Taraka, Poona-Bayabao, Lumba Bayabao, Maguing, Mulondo, Bumbaran, and Wao. Sultan Aliponto Tambug was the Commonwealth Government's first Tamparan District Mayor. However, Tamparan was previously headed by the district president. Its first and second presidents were Sultan Manking Sugador and Datu Surutan Acmad, respectively.

As a frontier, the Islamic Municipality of Tamparan keeps up to its name. Beautiful and attractive people, religious leaders, professionals, educators, and, of course, a booming commercial district and hospital facilities are all in the foreground. In a nutshell, it becomes a business, educational, and market center/frontier adjacent to Marawi.

Given the current crop of contenders for governor of Lanao del Sur, the next governor must be a Tamparanian, but no iTamparanun contender. Mayor Juhar Dimaporo Disomimba possesses the vital characteristics to lead the future Lanao. Thus, Juhar's reelection campaign for mayor of our town must succeed; this would provide Tamparan with the opportunity to lead a greater Lanao. Progressive Tamparan

: 371 Education students (out of more than 500 reported college students) enrolled in the 1st Semester of A.Y. 2019-2020 of As-Salehein Integrated School Foundation (AISF) in Tamparan will receive grants-in-aid or Tertiary Education Subsidies (TES) with a total amount of P11,130,000 from CHED-UNIFAST. TES provides subsidies to support their college education. With this, students can receive financial support from the government to cover a cost of their tuition, transportation allowances, and boarding as well as books and supplies.

It can be noted from the list below that among all eligible PHEIs in LDS, AISF got the highest number of approved TES beneficiaries due to prioritization. TES prioritizes students studying in Private HEI with no existing State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

Meanwhile, many new Private HEIs in LDS and Marawi are still waiting for MBHTE to ask CHED to include them in the TES Registry so their students can also benefit from UNIFAST.

BREAKING NEWS | COVID-19 task force backtracks, places low-risk areas under modified GCQ.

BARMM cited as low-risk region will now be placed under modified general community quarantine (from May 16-31), the COVID-19 task force said on Wednesday.

The IATF has yet to finalize the guidelines for the areas under modified GCQ.

For those under modified GCQ, movement is more relaxed and workers are allowed to report back to their non-essential jobs while practicing minimum health standards, such as wearing of face masks in public, physical distancing, and constant handwashing and disinfecting.

SONNY PARSONS. Was he a Muslim?

SINGER-ACTOR and former Marikina councilor Sonny Parsons, best known as member of the 80s singing all-male group Hagibis, and lead actor of the movie, 'Capt. Rassul Alih' in 1993, succumbed to heart attack shortly after he arrived in Tayabas City in Quezon province after a long motorcycle drive from Marikina City.

Authoriries said they have suggested to have Parsons autopsied but his daughter had refused saying his father was a converted Islam, adding that his remains should be taken immediately to their mosque in Taguig City as part of Muslim tradition.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Tamparan has started preparing for the distribution of P5,000 emergency cash aid under the DSWD's Emergency Subsidy Program (ESP), also referred to by most as the Social Amelioration Program (SAP), especially in the social media.

Yesterday, MSWDO Head, Najah B. Guinar-Lucman, met the LGU Tamparan Covid-19 Response Team and discussed the special guidelines on the provision of social amelioration program. Today, the said Office has begun its 3-day survey and validation of the program's target beneficiaries who are assessed to be most affected by the declaration of Enhanced Community Quarantine given their existing life situations or circumstances.

The procedures, measures and special guidelines of the ESP implementation are embodied in DSWD-DOLE-DTI-DA-DOF-DBM Joint Memorandum Circular 1 s. 2020 and DSWD MC No. 04 s. 2020. The enabling law is RA #11469, also known as the "Bayanihan to Heal As One Act".

LGU-Tamparan IATF continues to man, on a daily basis, the Quarantine Control Point/Checkpoint at Barangay Talub, where motorists and passers step on a disinfecting footbath and undergo thermal scanning before being allowed entry to the Municipality of Tamparan. This is just one of the preventive measures taken by MLGU to ward off Covid-19.
