Good evening (here at least) everyone!
Last week in the AWA discord, we did a little trivia- including how AWA started, the date, the founder etc. I thought it would be nice to post some of that info here for a more personal view into the project!
Art While Apart was founded May 10th 2020- nearly 2 years ago now! It began with a team of 4 staff members, which has now grown to 19. The first staff member was our dear Walsa ( https://www.instagram.com/walsart )
Our most talkative member, and also our local syrup lover, is the incredible Hafi (https://www.instagram.com/artofhafi ). Hafi has posted over 112,000 messages in the server!!
Our member who has completed the most portraits for AWA is the wickedly talented Lea (https://www.instagram.com/whimsyandshenanigans ) with a whopping 185 and counting! She also made the AWA logo itself slight_smile
The animals in the AWA logo are all pets owned by staff! There is Nicole's dog Ripley (https://www.instagram.com/aussie_ripley) , Isabel's- the AWA founder's- dog Nico (https://www.instagram.com/mydogslog) , Chel's cat Sorsha (https://www.instagram.com/chellosia) and Graven's bird Zarhope (https://www.instagram.com/birdseedsltd )
We also have a mentor program, in which artists who do not yet meet the quality guidelines can apprentice and graduate. Our first member to graduate from this program was the lovely SmilingDarkness (https://www.instagram.com/thesmilingdarkness )
When we added the Birthday bot to our discord, it was the inspiring Nicole (https://www.instagram.com/nicole_b.art ) who wrangled it. While our beloved Chosa (https://www.instagram.com/chosaguro ) has given out an incredible 491 pet claims and counting!
To assist us with our endeavors, a special bot was created to help give out these claims. Professor Mew was the creation of the amazing Samantha (https://www.instagram.com/samanthastahlke)
Last bit of trivia- AWA completed an incredible 915 pieces during the first year- from its founding in 2020 til new year 2021!
