HIGHLIGHTS FROM MY INTERVIEW AT KASS FM, NAIROBI

Today in the morning, I had an opportunity to speak to the Kalenjin community at Kass FM International Nairobi. Thank you Kass Media management.

Last week, the residents of Nandi Hills constituency went to the ballot to nominate me to fly the UDA party flag as I seek to defend my seat as the Member of Parliament for Nandi Hills. In his democratic right, my competitor Benard Kitur launched a complaint at the party's dispute tribunal. In their wisdom, the members of the tribunal nullified my victory and that of my supporters; a decision which the party's National Elections Board upheld. My nomination certificate was then revoked and presented to my opponent Benard Kitur.
I accepted the decision of the party even though I believe that I was victimized without any justifiable reason whatsoever. I was welcomed to the UDA by the Secretary General Veronica Maina and one of the founders of the party, Hon Rigathi Gachagua. I was registered, paid the nomination fees and given a go ahead to contest for Nandi Hills MP UDA ticket. I say, thank you.

After wide consultations with my family members, legal team and supporters, I have decided to run for MP, Nandi Hills constituency on an INDEPENDENT ticket. That notwithstanding, I wish to pledge my loyalty to the Deputy President William Ruto. I will passionately campaign and support his presidential bid. I will also align my agenda with that of UDA and Kenya Kwanza coalition as a whole, that is "Kazi ni kazi, BOTTOM-UP, Pesa mfukoni".

To any person I have offended in the past; fellow leaders and my opponents, I wish to apologize and call for unity amongst us, the elected leaders, as we head into the general elections.
