Ok, I’m this installment we’ll look at the subtle ways the media uses words to divide and inflame. As usual the headline is the key: “Iowa governor signs GOP-forced voting changes bill into law”. do you see it? “Forced.”
Now the last time I looked at a civics book I was told that bills are written, debated and amended, then voted on and the results become law. Then when it comes time to apply that law, it is “followed.”
In a way you could say a law forces you to do or not do something buts the same as shining laws FORCE you to not kill people take their stuff.
No it’s incendiary language for the purpose in this case of angering people on the left to make them think they are being forced to do something by those on the right.
Subtle, effective, insidious.
