Hidden just out of sight of the mainstream, this subculture of innumerable talented acts and their passionate supporters is an unparalleled space for self-expression, creative experimentation, and unforgettable nights out. But despite its depth and quality, almost no one knows it exists.

In this documentary series, we shine a spotlight on the incredible creative talent found beneath the surface of Japanese culture. Come with us into the angura - the Japanese underground - to discover the best this community has to offer.
