It is amazing how fast we grow and how things quickly grow stale. My experience with men has been quite a hustle and I must say, it has been so for quite a long long time. When I was young, I never really needed anyone...flirting around and making love was just for fun but those days are gone! Faith...what is it?
What does it mean to have faith?
Do we truly have faith or are we just following sheepishly?
Do we know when we’ve lost our faith?
Do we know how to find it back?

Faith is the assurance of the things hoped for, the things believed in through promise of the word.

Sometimes, faith is a lot of things and when you begin to lose it, you lose momentum on a lot of things. You begin to find satisfaction where there’s none. You’re lost!

I hope that we know what faith is and that we have not lost it?
I hope that whatever situation we are passing through doesn’t not in any way cause us to lose faith in what we presently believe in.
And if we lost our faith along the way, I hope that we are able to find it back because without faith, what really is there?

So I had this quite tasty meal at Soul foods Eatery Lagos and it was my first time eating french fries embedded in beef & vegetables or ever seeing french fries presented in this manner. I topped it off with their milkshake, which was creamy & delightful by the way...I enjoyed every sip.

It was not long I left this scene before my phone started ringing sporadically. I was trying to make my way home when I heard the news of the killings, the unwarranted Lekki Toll Gate Massacre! Family & friends wanting to know my location and if I was safe.
Whom did we offend?
Why did the Lagos State Government do this?
Why did you unleash armed military on unarmed protesters?
What sort of madness is it?
How do we explain this brutality?
All we asked for is a better chance at living in Nigeria...why?

I opened my phone this morning, visited twitter and the first thing I see is ...at first I am confused, shocked, worried and pi**ed. What happened to Izu? Why did he kill himself? What went wrong? How come nobody knew? So many questions were raging in my head while going through the many feeds on my Twitter TL, then I saw that he had been saying he was ‘falsely accused’ of r**e by one ‘Ninachianeese’ and the ‘victim’...but Izu’s constant plea for clarification on what the non-physical assault that amounted to r**e was, fell on deaf ears and failing to live with the pain of people accusing him wrongly, poor Izu committed su***de. 😐😢 Unfortunately, we cannot get the true story because Nina and the victim have now deleted/blocked their twitter accounts and have suddenly stopped saying anything which gets the likes of me thoroughly worried.
“Did he really want to die?”
“No one commits su***de because they want to die.”
“Then why did he do it?”
“Because he wanted to stop the pain.”
Why would we falsely accuse someone of something so grave or even anything at all? Why would we resort to emotional weapons on social media when we know they are likely to damage the person’s image and reputation? All for what? We need to know that everything affects everything and the duty on us to love our neighbour as ourselves is something we all need to constantly abide by.
If you are depressed today and no one is paying you any attention, please seek real physical help. As hard as it might not be to think of su***de, please remember those that also love and care for you - reach out to them. Never, never, never give up! Su***de doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better. If you are looking for a sign to not kill yourself, please this is it.
Just know that the person who is able to complete his/her su***de mission, dies once and for all. Those left behind die a thousand and one deaths, trying to relive those terrible moments and finding answers and just trying to understand...why?

With all the drama going on on social media about Jada Pinkett, Will Smith & August Alsina...I thought about how my marriage could be like, how it ought to be and how God designed it to be.

I know there will be elements of long-suffering, patience, forbearance, sacrifice, commitment and some good level of communication, honesty, integrity and understanding. What I didn’t see was an entanglement or dishonesty or the likes of it.🤷🏻‍♀️
I thought hard on a monologue to do and then I came across this old video that I had done before but never posted and somehow, it also had an element of what some people face in their marriage - the ups and downs, the highs and low’s and so I decided it was time to post it.😃
I believe and I’m of the opinion that one shouldn’t deliberately walk into a bad marriage for the sake of love or the fancy idea of it, that’s a partnership for life that you can’t really make a mistake on! I believe that a marriage union should be strategic, purposeful, deliberate yet beautiful, happy and Godly. 💯
And if unfortunately you find yourself in a bad marriage that you can no longer tolerate, have the decency to separate peacefully, amicably and without the rigour of a drama! 🥺
But then life is all about the drama, isn’t it? Else, how would it be worth anything in this recent age and time? Yeah right...🚯

Day 7 in Houston with the family (my nieces - Jessie Ikpemi; Sophie Etse and my sister-in-law cm big sister 💖), the boys were somewhere else in the background obviously not wanting to be part of our schenanigans but Jessie & I were definitely not going to stop. I am happy and grateful that I have a family where love abides and where blood is thicker than water!

H I P P I E

Day 5 in New York City with Dr. NG (we can now add prof. too via Affidavit, Supreme Court) and baby Gosirim AKA Siri 💖 (PhD in view) my academician. I had fun watching Siri (for the 1st time since she was born) stay quietly in her stroller while mummy fed her and sang to her...the baby of her youth - my heart was content in that tiny moment of love! It was heartwarming to spend that little time with NG in between mixed yogurt, cakes and chips and the train ride back to NJ - even my grandma in red and the overwhelming pain she put me through couldn’t stop our meet, thanks for waiting. In the short time together, NG and I caught up on old times and shared information. It would have been a waste not to take these photos!!!

PS: NG, you still owe me that pizza and Chinese cuisine, my grandma in red has gone! 😉
