I’m working on a documentary right now, and just flashed back to a series I sound designed and mixed in the mid-90s called Signal to Noise: Your Life with Television. I was really young at the time, but I find the discussions in this show about news and how what we consume is controlled and contrived are even more relevant now than when this was created.

I’m delighted to have found an episode online! Enjoy this culturally relevant time capsule.

Episode 2 of my new podcast UnSung: The People you Don’t Know you Know is live everywhere where you get podcasts.

This was a great discussion with Bob Bergen , Bob Joles and Jim Conroy talking about the business of voice acting, especially as it pertains to cartoons in a post-Covid world. It’s less “getting to know you” and more of a deep dive into the behind the scenes world of voice acting- warts and all.

There are so many master class moments in this chat! Part 1 is up now. Part 2 comes next week, and features live Q&A from our virtual studio audience of voice actors.

Read more at the link below. Episode link in the comments.

This episode stemmed from a lively dinner discussion at Chiller Theater- a film expo and convention in NJ. Voice actor icon Bob Bergen was in attendance, and was joined by local voice actor Jim Conroy, Bob Joles (visiting from California), and myself. After a nearly 5 hour discussion on all things v...

Helping Julia Maloof Verderosa out today at Pet Wants SOMA for her pet popup shoot. I always set up a display of her cards. Her photo of Andre Braugher has been on them since before he became a regular at my home studio. Extra sad reminder of his passing… but a fantastic photo!

It was super fun being a guest of the VO Booth Besties (Jen Tophoney, Aleesha West Bake and Jen Greenfield) the other night. If you wanna check it out, you can watch it on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/live/HIW0D0ZVC28?si=kXz5b1YooC1wkKhT).

If an hour of my face is a bit much, you can listen to the podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/vo-booth-besties/id1673762218?i=1000643677555

It was great to chat about everything from booths to casting, and who the heck I am and why I was even there. It’s refreshing to chat with folks who “get it”. Give them a listen!

Coming Monday, 2/5/24, the long overdue complete first episode of UnSung: The People you Don't Know You Know, featuring Frank Simms- the inspiration for this show!

David Bowie, Madonna, Billy Joel, SNL, countless jingles and commercials- plus years of being the KOOLAID guy. Oh YEAHHhhhhh. Let's talk to Frank Simms.

Special thanks to John Beach for voicing the show intro, and to Christina Andretta for voicing the show!

Frank Simms was actually the inspiration for this show. I've worked with him for years as a voice actor, and knew that he was a jingle singer from some work we had done together years ago. But each time I would work with him, I'd learn some amazing new thing he was a part of: David Bowie, Madonna, B...

Having a nostalgic moment after viewing a lot of Bankie Banx just now, courtesy of Nara Garber. What a trip. So many memories. Remembering the many late nights at Home Base (formerly Secret Sound) working with Bankie on tracks that now live on the album Island Boy. It's weird that being fresh out of college and connecting with that studio through Joe Bartoldus changed my life... in no small part due to Wini Atkinson's influence. Just a few years after that, we tracked a whole batch of new tunes at Kampo Studios.

The connections to Bankie seem endless, from voice actor friends to musicians, and people I've worked with along the way like Kevin Bacon... and most recently Dan Mancini.

It's a little hard to believe I still have not been to . I'm going to need to fix that! Jordin Ruderman- tagging you for the connection, because I know you know!

A lifetime ago and it feels like yesterday.

Happy holidays to all. Thanks to everyone I’ve mixed for, recorded, consulted with and got to know in 2023. There’s so much more in 2024!

Here, in no particular order, are my favorite holiday tunes/ tracks/ scores. The list could actually go on forever- but these are the tunes I have to hear each year. Enjoy! (Apple Music link below).
