Here's a video I've been working on for a while, which is definitely one of my favorites to date. It follows Darius Coombs, a Mashpee Wampanoag, who makes a mishoon from beginning to end. There's no chopping—the boat is shaped mostly by burning and scraping. The finished boat will appear at an exhibit at the Nantucket Historical Association later this month.
