Sophie needed to take her local-market, natural-fiber clothing comany and create new branding and an online store. The pandemic limited her face-to-face sales, so she needed to go electronic and go global.

The Solution
Purethreadline.com has opened. I helped her secure funding from the MEO Adaptability Fund, guided her in choosing a name using Google Ad Words, created a logo, assisteded her in choosing branding keywords, and helped teach her how to use Shopify. I helped her set up a Google business page and design a new business card with a QRC code leading directly to that Google business page for extant customers to leave testimonials. I set up most of the site including custom swatches, performed troubleshooting, and created a video (below) at one of the fashion photo shoots just for fun and to really show the movement and texture of the natural silk fabric. Her company Google search results improved enormously over a few short months!

Speaking of here’s some I’ve made over the years. These were made between 2011 and 2015 for businesses in North Carolina and Oahu. The first, for Open Heart Yoga, was based on an experience one of the teachers had during meditation.

Yesterday I helped a client make some new cards. She had done the basic design herself online (orientation, colors, edge, and information groupings —and I redid it to make the logo (that I made for her) “pop” more, give her a QRC code to make it easy for customers to give her Google Reviews, and finessed the use of typefaces (Montserrat and Alice, both Google Fonts, paired for that dynamic push-pull and treated for maximum legibility and brand consistency.

I’ve been doing this professionally for 16 years, and took my first typography class in Seattle about 26 years ago!

I love to play with the “cut-up method”) to cut off pieces of letters and make them into something else, which I did a little for the cotton icon on the front.
