SUPREME COURT CHIEF GESMUNDO TO ADMINISTER OATH OF MARCOS JR.

Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo will swear in President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as the 17th President of the Republic of the Philippines on June 30, incoming Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez said Friday.

In a message to reporters, Rodriguez said Marcos will take his oath before the chief of the high court to “abide by tradition.”

Gesmundo, however, has yet to receive an invitation to the inauguration and a request to officiate Marcos’ oathtaking.

“According to CJ Gesmundo, he has not received any requests yet to administer the oath for President-elect Marcos Jr.,” SC spokesperson Atty. Brian Hosaka said.

The camp of Marcos earlier announced that the incoming president will take his oath on June 30 at the National Museum of the Philippines. – rrdg

Boying Remulla as next DOJ Secretary

Cavite 7th district Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla was the person nominated by presumptive president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for the position of Department of Justice (DOJ) secretary, a portfolio that the former has officially accepted.

• The 61-year-old Remulla previously served as the governor of Cavite from 2016 to 2019, Deputy House Speaker from 2010 to 2013, and as Cavite’s 3rd district representative from 2004 to 2010.

• He is currently part of the National Unity Party (NUP), one of the larger and more respected political parties in the country.

• As a lawmaker, Remulla was one of the authors of the Republic Act (RA) 9727, which reapportioned Cavite’s legislative districts from three to seven after its enactment.

• Even before the 2022 elections, Remulla had allied himself with Marcos, explaining that they had built rapport during their tenure together as part of the 14th Congress from 2007 to 2010. Marcos at the time was Ilocos Norte’s 2nd district representative.

• According to Remulla, Marcos had been hinting at his appointment for the Justice seat before the votes had even been counted.

• Remulla was reelected as the Cavite 7th district congressman after running unopposed in the 2022 elections. His acceptance of the Cabinet posts means that he will have to vacate his House seat.

• Remulla has two brothers both experienced in politics: Governor Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla who was similarly reelected, and Gilbert Remulla who formerly served as Cavite’s 2nd district representative from 2001 to 2007.

The DOJ, which Remulla is slated to lead, falls under the executive branch of government, and is responsible for upholding and enforcing laws. It also serves the national government’s legal counsel and prosecution arm.

Ngayong 4 PM, Setyembre 16, 2021, ang Department of Health ay nakapagtala ng 21,261 na karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19. Samantala ay mayroon namang naitalang 13,644 na gumaling at 277 na pumanaw.

Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga naitalang kaso sa bansa, 7.7% (177,946) ang aktibong kaso, 90.7% (2,090,228) na ang gumaling, at 1.56% (36,018) ang namatay.

Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat, lahat ng mga laboratoryo ay operational noong September 14, 2021 habang mayroong 2 laboratoryo na hindi nakapagsumite ng datos sa COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS). Base sa datos sa nakaraang 14 na araw, ang kontribusyon ng 2 labs na ito ay humigit kumulang 0.2% sa lahat ng samples na naitest at 0.3% sa lahat ng positibong mga indibidwal.

Sa mga susunod na araw ay maari pang tumaas ang ating mga kaso ng COVID-19. Ang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards, maiging pagsasagawa ng PDITR strategies, at pagbabakuna ay nanatiling pinakapabisang depensa sa COVID-19. Mahalaga rin na tayo ay mag-isolate at makipagugnayan sa BHERTs kung tayo ay may sintomas ng COVID-19. Ang maagang konsultasyon at pagpapatest ay makatutulong upang maputol ang hawaan sa mga bahay, komunidad, at sa mga lugar na pinagtatrabahuhan.

ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND PESOS WORTH OF ILLEGAL DRUGS SEIZED BY BULA PNP

BULA CAMARINES SUR-At about 7:00 AM of March 15, 2021, at Zone 4, Brgy Balaogan, Bula Camarines Sur. MELENCIO DOLLIZON JR y YEE aka “BUNGAW”, 55 years old, and his wife GINA DOLLIZON Y RAZON, 45 years old, both resident of said barangay, were arrested by Joint elements of 501st Maneuver Company RMFB5 and Bula Municipal Police Station personnel led by PMAJ FERNANDO B CEDO, CHIEF OF POLICE.
During the Implementation of Search Warrant for Violation of RA 9165 issued by Hon Renato P. Marpuri, Judge of Municipal Trial Court Bula, Cam Sur dated March 10, 2021 against the suspects at their residence, the operatives recovered/confiscated the following;
1. (1) piece commando match box.
2. Seven (7) pieces small heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu.
3. Two (2) pieces open transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
4. One (1) piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected as shabu.
5. One (1) piece Rolled Aluminum foil.
6. Two (2) packs of transparent sachet.
7. One (1) piece black heart box/container of G-shock watch.
Markings and photographs of recovered items were done at the place of incident in the presence of Barangay Kagawad Abdon B Sombrero, Brgy. Kagawad Luis M Bermido, and Brgy Kagawad Florence H Balderas, all of Brgy. Balaogan, Bula, Camarines Sur and Media representative Ma. Theresa L Iraola, and thereafter, inventory/confiscation receipt made by the searcher was signed by the mandatory witnesses in the presence of the suspects. Further, the subject arrested persons were properly informed of their constitutional rights and the cause of their arrest and brought/put to this station for proper documentation and disposition.
