Trust we’re all keeping safe, and getting into the weekend groove.

Our latest release is now out on Bandcamp

Inspired by the need to re-position our Classic grooves (Juju, Highlife, Apala e.t.c) into contemporary Dance Culture playlists, as the Felabration Lagos Remixes have done for various Fela titles, we present this first edition of ‘’Nigerian Club Classics Remixed’’ (within the Back 2 Da Future Of Dance context).

Many classic Club cuts of the 60’s/70’s/80’s sold millions of vinyl copies, and this E.P features anthemic , , , and infused remixes of some of these, by Tolerant, DR. DUB Little, Afrika Society, and Afrologic, in a U.K/Nigerian collaboration.

There are remixes by Afrologic , while provide an alternative Acoustic Mix, utilising elements of Apala, a traditional Yoruba groove.

“War” is variously artistic, political, groove maximised,
and intensely experimental, attempting to expand
the boundaries of post-FELA Afrobeat, thus locating it’s own
uniquely funky space within a rapidly expanding global
movement. It incorporates sampled
spoken excerpts of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti from the
seeds of a rare1996 interview at ‘Kalakuta’, taped
by singer/guitarist, and Afro brotha Keziah Jones Aka Femi
Sanyaolu for his U.K based Afrikan Anarchist Corp.

These remixed/un-released versions feature Keziah Jones (guitars), Duro Ikujenyo [ex-Egypt 80] (piano), Temi Oyedele - Musik (vocals), Odia (sax) and (!)Smiles David (trumpet).The original cover artwork for “War” sees Ghariokwu Lemi, the acclaimed album sleeve designer for Fela Kuti (and many others) again raising the bar in the field of pictorial narration

Our latest release may just be a cool gift. ‘’Tèmil’Olúwa’’ is a debut album for Nigerian female singer/songwriter Temi Oyedele - Musik, after various singles and collaborations with artistes, such as UK’s Sherwood & Pinch (Stand Strong), Rob Smith (The One), plus Portugal’s Octa Push (LGS-LX).
It’s a collection of mostly self-penned Inspirational songs, tinged with Jazz, Blues, and Dance, undergirded by Yoruba traditional rhythms.
On the lead/title track, original Production, and Bass is by Wole Jesutomi, guitars - , percussion - Samson Olawale, with Gboyega 'Afrologic' Oyedele, putting a little twist to the mix, blending in elements of the Washington D.C Go-Go groove. Thanks Go-Go Loops! The album is now available at most streaming/download sites, distributed by OkayMusic Boomplay/Spinlet, and CD editions follow shortly.
