In a recent press release posted via Editor & Publisher Magazine, Times-Journal Inc. Marietta Daily Journal has acquired six papers in the Atlanta metro area from Southern Community Newspapers, Inc.

The publications acquired by Times-Journal are the Gwinnett Daily Post, The Rockdale Citizen, The Newton Citizen, Henry Herald, Clayton News and the Jackson Progress-Argus.

According to a September press release from brokerage firm Dirks Van Essen & April, River City Newspapers, owner of Today's News Herald is acquiring several publications in the Mohave County and Tri-State Area in southwest Arizona from Brehm Communications. The purchase includes the Mohave Valley Daily News, The Wickenburg Sun and The Needles Desert Star, in addition to the Laughlin Nevada Times .
