What a thrill to see Tammy the Troll as a dance musical. Produced
Choreography

Loved the costumes, music, sets, and expanded script. What a joy to see these young performers bring Tammy to life.

Our stories are always royally-free and adaptable. We love sharing our stories.

Tell me: 1) Cultural tradition, a part of history, or 2) Outdated weirdness that should change?

Maybe I’m just bitter about my wedding invites (decades later).

PNB dancers have never looked better, and I loved this rep. This Mortal Jump Saturday night was one of my top 20 ever. With 4 subscriptions, I typically prefer new work, but I’d watch that one over and over.

Love these mixed reps, and that PNB has so many of them.

Happy International Women’s Day.

Also I already need a nap. Daylight Saving is the worst. I need to remember not to do a big vending event the night before in the future.

I swear every time the world feels overwhelmingly sad and I doubt my purpose, someone gives me a gift.

Thank you for the message, AM: “Thank you for inspiring me through a super difficult few years here in KY. Despite the world feeling like a total … you have powered through and brought fun, joy, beauty, education and love to the world when it is most needed…”

Attending a gala Saturday felt surreal against the backdrop of everything happening in the world. But I choose again and again to uncurl from the fetal position… to engage, to dance, to create. I believe that dance leads to happier people and healthier communities and ultimately makes a better world.

gala Thanks .sea & Elizabeth for closing down the dance floor with me. Thanks for the fun photo.

not just books but a purpose, strong opinions, and the belief that dance can make the world a happier, healthier place.

POV: Your illustrator created something even better than what you imagined.

Stella, the little touches here are so on brand, thoughtful, and wonderful. The uniqueness of every animal, all accepted, all doing their best, all sharing this beautiful art form, subtle but important.

I can’t wait to share more in the next few months.

Why we made this

Once Upon A Dance was created in March of 2020. It’s a tough world for a whole generation of young dancers unable to dance in their studios, and we wanted to make something positive from all the sudden free time. With kids stuck at home, Once Upon a Dance was our attempt to encourage exercise, expression, and meditation. Konora the Ballerina is ready to share her movement, creativity, gratitude, persistence, and wisdom. Visit Once Upon A Dance (Children's Dance Books) or Once Upon a Dance on Amazon for information about the Dancing Shapes series (ages 6-8) or the Dance-It-Out series (ages 4-6, debuting February 2021).
