21/11/2024

11-21-24: If you like clear skies and cool temperatures, you'll be happy with the next few days' forecast as sunny skies will continue for Spring Branch. The high will shift off to our east Saturday bringing moisture and warmer temperatures back to the area. A weak front moves through Monday bringing slightly cooler air with it. Another, possibly stronger front will approach the area late Wednesday. Models are not in agreement as to how much rain the next front will bring. Continue to check back for updates on the Thanksgiving Day forecast.

11-19-24: We'll see mostly sunny skies for Spring Branch today with a high temperature near 79 degrees. The colder air arrives tonight with the second front bringing breezy conditions and a wind shift to the north. Highs Wednesday will be in the upper 60s with lows in the lows 40s Thursday morning. A gradual warming trend will start by the end of the week and through the weekend with no rain in the forecast through Monday.

11-28-24: A line of showers and thunderstorms will move through Spring Branch during the early afternoon hours. A quarter to a half inch of rain is possible. Winds will be from the south at 10-15 mph with higher gusts, then shifting to the west after the passage of the front. Colder air will push through with a second front late Tuesday.



17/11/2024

11-17-24: Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue through the afternoon for Spring Branch as onshore flow persists in our area. Chance of rain is 70%. Winds will be 5-15 mph with gusts to 20 mph. A line of showers and thunderstorms moves through around midday tomorrow ahead of the cold front. Winds will shift to the west then to the northwest on Tuesday as high temperatures will be near 80 degrees. The second cold front arrives Tuesday night, rain free, bringing colder air and breezy conditions. with high temperatures in the upper 60s and lows in the mid 40s.
Tropical Depression continues to weaken over Central America. The risk of Catastrophic flooding and mudslides will continue over this area while Sara moves further inland.

11-16-24: Clouds have moved into Spring Branch today and will stay with us over the next few days as two cold fronts pass through our area. Rain chances increase tonight, currently at 20% mainly along the coast, then to 60% Sunday afternoon.
The first front moves through Monday, with a line of showers and thunderstorms developing ahead of the front. SPC has our area in a Marginal Risk (1/5) for severe weather Monday, mainly in the form of damaging winds. Rainfall totals are expected to be in the .75" to 1.0" range with a few isolated areas receiving higher amounts. The second front moves through Tuesday night bringing a reinforcement of colder air. Wednesday and Thursday high temperatures will be in the low to mid 60s with lows near 40 degrees. Winds will be southeast 10-15 mph with higher gusts through the weekend, then shifting to the northwest at 10-15 mph with gusts to 30 mph Monday.
Tropical Storm is bringing catastrophic rainfall to Honduras, Belize, and areas in Central America. The system is expected to dissipate over the southern Gulf of Mexico early next week.



15/11/2024

11-15-24: Another round of beautiful weather is the forecast for Spring Branch today with high temperatures near 76 degrees. Winds will be light. Onshore flow returns to the area overnight along with an increase in atmospheric moisture with skies expected to be partly sunny for Saturday and a high temperature near 80 degrees. Lows will be in the upper 60s. Winds will be southeast at 10-15 mph. Sunday will be mostly cloudy and breezy with a few quick-moving showers possible throughout the day. Shower and thunderstorm chances increase to 50% Sunday night and to 80% Monday with the approach of the next cold front.
The front will pass through quickly leaving sunny skies and cooler temperatures Tuesday. A reinforcement of cold air comes Wednesday with the next front. Models are currently showing high temperatures in the mid 60s and lows near 40 for Thursday.

NHC is monitoring Tropical Storm as it is expected to slowly move into Central America bringing catastrophic flooding to Honduras and nearby areas this weekend. Track and intensity guidance is currently showing this system possibly moving into the southern Gulf of Mexico Monday if it doesn't dissipate over Central America. A front pushing off the Texas coast next week will keep the system away from Texas and northern gulf coast states. Stay informed with the latest from Weather Insights:

11-13-24: Spring Branch will see sunny skies today with highs in the mid 80s. Winds will be calm shifting to the north tonight after the passage of the cold front, increasing to 5-10 mph with higher gusts.
Highs will be in the mid 70s Thursday with overnight lows dipping to the upper 40s. Temperatures will slowly rise toward the weekend until our next cold front arrives Monday along with a chance of rain.
NHC is monitoring the development of Disturbance 1 in the Western Caribbean, which is expected to become a tropical storm in the next 48 hours. We have an update on Weather Insights:

11-11-24: Happy Veterans Day and thank you all veterans for your service. We have a Dense Fog Advisory in effect until 9 AM this morning today that does include Spring Branch Skies will turn partly cloudy this afternoon with a high temperature near 83 degrees and a north wind at 5 mph. Our next chance of rain will be Wednesday with the approach of the next cold front. The rain chances for Wednesday is currently 20%.

11-8-24: We could see a few showers ahead of the front today for Spring Branch. Rain chances are at 50% today, increasing to 70% overnight. Skies will be partly sunny with southeast winds at 5-10 mph, switching to the north at 5-10 mph overnight. Skies will slowly clear by Saturday afternoon. A slight chance of rain continues through the weekend with high temperatures in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 60s.

11-7-24: Skies will be will be partly sunny for Spring Branch today with east winds at 5-10 mph. Rain chances increase tomorrow to 50% during the afternoon and 70% Friday night with the approach of the next front. Rain chances stay at 50% during the morning Saturday with gradual clearing by the afternoon. Temperatures behind the front will drop to the upper 70s for highs and upper 60s for lows. Sunday will see slight rain chances with high temperatures warming to the low 80s. The next cold front arrives midweek bringing cooler and drier air.
Hurricane made landfall in Western Cuba yesterday and has entered the Gulf of Mexico with winds at 105 mph, moving northwest at 9 mph. Rafael is expected to eventually turn west then southwest and weaken to a tropical storm by Monday. We'll have a complete update on Rafael later on Weather Insights.

11-5-24: A line of showers and thunderstorms will quickly move through Spring Branch this morning. None of these storms are currently severe. Expect brief, heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds as the storms move through the area. The rain should taper off by the time the polls open at 7 AM. A few showers will linger through midmorning then skies slowly clear this afternoon as drier air filters in from the north wind behind the front.

11-4-24: We start off with mostly cloudy skies this morning for Spring Branch. There's a 40% chance of scattered showers this afternoon with a high temperature near 87 and south winds 15-20 mph with higher gusts. A line of showers and thunderstorms move through overnight into Tuesday morning in advance of the cold front. Some storms could be strong to severe. Dry air will move in to the area Tuesday afternoon along with clearing skies as temperatures drop to near 60 for lows with high temperatures in the 70s to 80s later in the week.
NHC is tracking PTC number 18 which is expected to intensify into a hurricane when it enters the Gulf of Mexico midweek.
