Last but certainly not least please welcome to the cast the lovely Anna Nalepka in the role of detective Bridges!

Born Anna Calderon in Queens, New York City, Anna Nalepka is an award winning actress of Puerto Rican and Irish descent. She started her acting career later in life after raising a family beginning with community theater then appearing in student films, commercials and public service announcements. She later landed supporting roles on shows such as "FBI Criminal Pursuit," "I dated a Psycho" and "Alaska: Ice Cold Killers. She was nominated and won " best supporting actress in a drama " at the Asheville Film Festival in 2016.
After taking a five year absence away from the acting world to deal with the loss of her daughter Stephanie to stage 4 breast cancer , she has re-emerged with a new determination to show other bereaved parents how to carry on after the loss of a child. Anna will appear in several new projects such as the feature film "Tales of Legend" due out October 2021 as well as the Batman fan web series "The Dark Figure" due out by the end of the year The short film "Clover" and the pilot episode for the TV series "We Survive" being shot in Raleigh North Carolina November 2021.

Justin lives in North Carolina and is currently in law enforcement at this time. Justin has a background in law enforcement, medical, firefighting, and rescue. Justin is a Purdue University alumni member. Justin holds two bachelor's degrees, and one master's from Purdue University Global. Justin holds many certifications and training material related to emergency services.

Varun Aggarwal Bio:

Varun is a working actor, located in Charlotte NC. Motion Arts is one form that has always excited me and stayed with me, ever since I can remember. At 3, i saw my first movie in a theatre. My father got me my own tv in my room and the Dream was born. A huge Shah Rukh Khan fan, all I wanted to do was watch tonnes of movies and act. I did theatre in India for 7 and a half years, before Destiny brought me to the land of opportunities, America. I started with formal training and theatre, working with likes of Shakespeare Carolina and Three Bone Theatre amongst others. A few TV and movie roles later, I feel I have never been in a better learning environment. I am an IT professional by the day, and my wife and 3 years old boy are my biggest motivation in life. And they keep me on my toes.

Everyone.. please welcome Nicole Cates who had been cast in the role of JENNA

Nicole has a strong background in stage and film productions encompassing both dramatic and comedic roles. Throughout her career she has had the privilege of working with numerous award winning directors and has been a part of projects recognized for excellence in various film festivals. Nicole possesses many skills including horseback riding, figure skating, and ballroom dancing which have aided her in her pursuit to play a diversity of roles in both film and television. She completed her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2017 and has worked in the field since that time affording her the opportunity to study the human condition in an effort to better understand and portray characters from script to screen. Although acting is Nicole's primary passion, she also enjoys spending time with her 4 pound dog Luna, running half marathons, and planning trips with friends.

Bio:
Madison (Madi) Taylor Fiely is an American actress. She is from Russian, German, and Irish descent. Madi was born in Kirkland, Washington but moved to Oklahoma when she was four and spent the remainder of her childhood there. She went on to obtain a BFA in Acting at Coastal Carolina University (South Carolina) as well as a minor in Film and Production Studies. She is best known for No Rest for the Wicked (2021), Dust of Souls (2021), Tenkiller (2021), USS Christmas (2020), and Unwrapping Christmas (2020).

Brandon Marski has been training at Actor’s Arsenal in Wilmington, North Carolina since 2015. He has worked on numerous feature films and shorts over the past three years. His latest release Sunrise won Best Horror Narrative Short at the 2021 Longleaf Film Festival. We are thrilled to have Brandon onboard and look forward to seeing him in the role of Jackson the enigmatic cult leader.

Our VIP list for Carnival of Darkness just keeps growing.

Director Johann Vernillet will join us on Sept. 24 at Raised in a Barn Farm. Here is his bio:

Johann started theater in high school at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School, where he took acting and directing classes to be able to act and direct his own plays. After graduating high school, Johann went to college at Rhode Island College and got a bachelor's degree in film. In his classes he had to make a couple of short films. He learned how to do script writing, pre-production, and post production. Including the ability to act, starring as the lead in a commercial for a law firm. Then years later, he would meet his business partners, who together created the company RPSD Film Productions, where Johann is co-founder, and owner.

Thanks to actor Anna Nalepka for bringing Johann into the fold.

Meet these film professionals and many others during Carnival of Darkness.

The festival is a chance to learn directly from the good souls who help power the independent film industry in North Carolina.
