If you're looking to build strength, burn fat and improve your overall stability, you probably wouldn't go for a workout that's designed for runners, right? Wrong. Instead, this 'structural reinforcements' workout from MH Fitness Editor Andrew Tracey uses protocols designed for runners, but comes with a welcome strength and conditioning twist.
Typically, the workout is usually used for pavement pounders looking to increase strength and stability using isometric moves. This version, however, will strengthen your posterior chain, legs and core, all while building muscle in your back.
In typical Tracey fashion you won't need much kit, either. Grab a pair of kettlebells or dumbbells (your muscles, as Schwarzenegger says, don't care what they're holding) and a box, platform or tyre to step up on to.
