Readers, you may have seen by now that June is the final issue of Elite. This is a sad announcement for us, but the upside is, this is a jam-packed issue of stories about moves, a place where folks re-enact D-Day in paintball and everything you need to know about consignment sales. On stands this week, always online, http://elitemagazine.nc.newsmemory.com/

The 82nd Airborne Division wraps up today, but it's not too late to read our "50 states of food" story in honor of the All American division. What food best represents your home state? http://www.fayobserver.com/elite/states-of-food/article_ed6377cc-b1d8-5346-bf87-245bb0a7064c.html

In honor of All American Week, we bring you 50 favorite foods from 50 soldiers from all 50 states, which is exactly two more states than were in existence when the 82nd Airborne Division was formed in 1917. All 48 states were represented in those early days which inspired the division's "All America…

So glad Yvonne reviewed one of our most recent reads for The Fayetteville Observer! ;) Some folks say it's the British "Gone Girl" but we think "The Girl on the Train" stands on its own. http://www.fayobserver.com/blogs/features/book_conversations/book-conversations-anticipating-a-train-wreck/article_6bb7b638-fe31-11e4-9ceb-b7f22b07eaf9.html

Hitchcock was often nicknamed “The Master of Suspense,” and suspense is what will keep you reading about the characters and trying to understand their motivations…

First female Blue Angel performed this weekend at the MCAS Beaufort Air Show. Something for North Carolinians to look forward to at next year's MCAS Cherry Point Air Show?

When military aviation buffs pack into the Marine Corps Beaufort Air Show in South Carolina, they'll be wowed by the Navy's Blue Angels. But a new kind of history will also take flight in the team: a woman in the cockpit. U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Katie Higgins is the first female pilot in the team's…

It’s not just about the big hats at the annual brunch hosted by the Fort Bragg Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Scholarships were awarded, reporter Nicole Carr spoke and fancy shoes (and hats) were on full display.

Ever heard of a Turner sports car? Neither had we. And we didn't know about the bombing of the USS Liberty in 1967. Veteran Roy Ivey filled us in on both. He's just one of the fascinating folks who will be bringing some of the coolest vintage cars around to the Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance and the Iron Mike Rally in May.

Congratulations to military brat Julianne Moore on her Academy Award for Best Actress! Moore was born at Womack Army Hospital on Fort Bragg and last night thanked her dad for "showing her the world." You may be surprised by the other celebrities, athletes and world leaders who are also part of the military brat pack (page 18). We're proud of all the members of this special club--from the littlest to the most famous.
