The term "chief end" refers to the ultimate purpose or goal of human existence. There is two types of lives people can lead: a God-centered life, where ones actions aim to please God and reflect His glory, and a self-centered life, a life only focused on ones own personal desires.

All sinner reflect Gods glory through merely existing but only the Holy Spirit can empower believers to live God-centered lives and to actively glorify him.

A Christians ultimate joy is found in knowing God and we reach our chief end at the very moment that we believe, we will not glorify and enjoy him perfectly in this life but in heaven we will do it perfectly.

In Colossians 2:13 scripture teaches us that we were once dead in sin and trespasses and that God made us alive together with Christ.

So, if this is you who has been raised to new life in Christ then your desires must be set on the things of the kingdom and not the world. Submit to your king, Jesus Christ who is seated at the right hand of God.

God’s sovereignty is sometimes a hard pill to swallow, whether it be good or bad God is sovereign. If you prosper, God is sovereign. If you fall on hard times, God is sovereign. Put all that aside and realise that we have an inheritance in Christ he is our reward and in salvation God is sovereign.
