Gucci Mane set to face longtime rival Jeezy in next ‘VERZUZ’ battle
Jeezy is set to take on T.I. in their upcoming Verzuz battle on Nov. 19, but the trap founding father revealed that his original dream opponent was Gucci Mane, who declined to go up against him.

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Jeezy said that Verzuz's co-creator Swizz Beatz called him about the opportunity. "I was like 'Yo, Swizz... If I do it, there's only one person I'd do it with. And he was like 'Who?' 'Gucci, reach out to him. Let me know what's up.'"

"Swizz hit back and said he respectfully declined," he continued. "Cool. Done. Kept it moving. I was gonna do it for the culture."

Gucci Mane Announces 'Verzuz' Battle With Jeezy

Gucci Mane has announced he’ll be facing off with Jeezy in an upcoming Verzuz battle.

“Tell buddy Get ready Thursday Nov 19 Trap God vs. Snowcone,” Gucci captioned an Instagram post of the event’s flyer.
However, it appears that the battle is taking place at the same time as the already-announced Verzuz with Jeezy and T.I.—and earlier this week, news emerged that Gucci turned down the opportunity to go back-to-back with Jeezy.

“Swizz [Beatz] called me and I was like ‘Yo, Swizz... If I do it, there's only one person I'd do it with,” Jeezy told The Breakfast Club this week. “And he was like ‘Who?’ ‘Gucci, reach out to him. Let me know what's up.’”

“Swizz hit back and said he respectfully declined,” Jeezy continued. “Cool. Done. Kept it moving. I was gonna do it for the culture.”

Still, it appears that the battle between Jeezy and Gucci is real.

T.I. shared it on his Instagram, as did Timbaland, who co-created the series with Swizz. This could mean he bowed out of Verzuz in favor of Gucci.

Welp! It looks like Verzuz had to give the people what they really wanted. On Saturday (Nov. 14), the one and only Gucci Mane shared that he would be going head-to-head with Jeezy on the next installment of the IG Live series — not T.I.

As many may recall, a few weeks ago, Busta Rhymes challenged Tip to a Verzuz. However, the kang of the south respectfully declined. Not too long after, Jeezy threw his hat in the ring and asked T.I. if he wanted the smoke, and Mr. Harris said yes.

“Say, bruh, you done been around the whole world on your campaign. Now you’re back here. I don’t know what you’re avoiding me for. I’ll tell you what, though, since it means that much to ya — put a date on it,” Jeezy said on IG. “I ain’t gon’ meet ya there — I’m gon’ beat ya there!”
