I've been on a hiatus, but HAD to come back to interview author Karen White about THE ATTIC ON QUEEN STREET -- the last book in her fabulous Tradd Street series!

Karen White is the bestselling author of 30 books, most of which are Southern Women's Fiction. We talk about what inspired her to depart from her 'usual' books to write the wildly popular Tradd Street series, featuring a southern realtor specializing in old houses, who is pestered by ghosts and has some challenges with her own personal relationships. The Attic on Queen Street is book 7 --and sadly the last in a series that features slightly creepy mysteries while still being warm and funny with a bit of romance.

In addition to being a best selling author, Christine Nolfi is an enchanting conversationalist and a fun person to hang out with! Listen in on this conversation between Christine and Kerry Anne King to catch her personal connection to the plot and setting of her new bestseller, THE PASSING STORM--as well as a fun story about a college caper that turned lucrative!

Jule Selbo is a woman of many talents: screenwriter, playwright, academic, and novelist, among many others! Her new mystery, 10 DAYS, features Dee Rommel, a damaged but indomitable and smart female lead. Fortunately, this is only the first book of a series! Kerry and Jule discuss research, getting into character's heads, and more in this lively author-to-author interview.

Nichole Angelica Marie Wood Brandenburg has an object relocation service, i.e. she is a kleptomaniac. Nichole only moves things that want to be moved and they, not her, decide on their destination. Right now Nichole is in the process of avoiding her psychologically abusive soon to be ex-husband and avoiding the overwhelming compulsion to relocate an old copy of Dante’s Inferno while helping her sister with her house cleaning service. What could possibly go wrong?

There is a lot more to this book than one might expect. It talks about psychological abuse, how easy it is for people to be dismissed because of a label or past history, post-partum psychosis, family support, and trust. The book is well written; it doesn’t get preachy but it gets the point across. The first couple of chapters may be a little slower pace as King sets the stage and lays out the background; but then it really takes off, and it’s hard to put down. I highly recommend this novel.

I'm gonna preface this by saying that as a rule I don't read dystopian--I'm what my Viking calls "rainbows and lollypops and unicorns." Even my Shadow Valley Books, which sort of cozy up to horror, have a through-thread of humor and hope. But I snuck a peek at PRETTY/UGLY and was immediately sucked in by the compelling psychology and literary writing and beautifully drawn characters and, well, all the things. I can't wait to talk to Jennifer about the ways that beauty and ugliness can nestle up side by side and find out what inspired her to write this tale. Hope you can join us! I'm hoping for a gnome sighting, tbh.

Addison is a talented photographer, living in Philadelphia. She’s intelligent, beautiful and engaged to marry a wonderful man. All seems fine, except for the fact Addison has no recollection of her past, nothing at all. She was found wandering on a highway, two years previously and her lack of memories, combined with occasional terrifying and violent flashbacks, are haunting her.

Meanwhile in Boston, Julian is searching for his wife, Cassandra, who disappeared without a trace, leaving him to care for their young daughter, Valentina. When Julian, purely by chance, finds Cassandra (Addison), she returns to Boston with him to resume her life there, and as she becomes acquainted with Valentina, some snippets of memories begin to return.

But all is not what it seems, and as time goes by, she finds herself increasingly isolated in the big house, and slowly feels she’s losing her mind.

The author takes us on an incredible roller coaster ride. This is a book I literally could not put down. The story is well-written, with an excellent plot and great suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Okay. I straight up adored this book. I'm a sucker for books with interesting and quirky characters, humor, and mystery--especially when there's just enough sadness to make that lump form in my throat but I'm hopeful that it's all going to work out in the end. And when a story like this is set on a small island that is just as much of a character as any of the characters? TOTALLY IN! Can't wait to talk to author Colleen Oakley and try to discover some secrets about life and writing that she's been keeping from us. Join me? 4 pm PST/7 pm EST

Why I Created Tell Me Your Secrets

Hey there! I’m Kerry Schafer...or Kerry Anne King...depending on who you talk to!

Two of my favorite things are book, and the people who write them. I’m a bit of an introvert, but talking about books with other people who love books makes my world go round.

Tell Me Your Secrets gives me the opportunity to sit around and discuss life and books with other people who love books. How could it get any better than that?

Here’s to fantastic books and everybody who loves them!
