Today when there are very few demolition by the government of homes and houses and huge shouts by the so called secularists, what have they to say on it.

Two comparative photographs of same location but taken at different time. You can see whole populations were ejected from their house and their houses were demolished. What latter left is a piece of barren land.
No wonder why Mirza Ghalib mentioned in his letters destruction of houses between Jama Masjid and Red Fort, ‘a great mound of bricks’. Below is a account from the book, 'The Last Mughal'.
“As Ghalib recorded in a series of sad letters to his correspondents across Hindustan: ‘There are between Raj Ghat [on the city’s eastern edge, facing on to the Yamuna] and the Jama Masjid is without exaggeration a great mound of bricks.’
