Greetings everyone, this is John Small, admin for this page.
Yeah, I may not live on Cape Cod now but that doesn't mean I'm not going to stay connected nor does it change the fact that my Small family ancestors (and other ancestry names, Snow, Dyer, Hopkins, etc.) Had a lot to do with building and being important parts of Cape Cod history.
Having said that, my artwork and Children's Book (still in the making) are going to be very much tied to Cape Cod and the history there.
So, if you'd like to keep up with my latest artwork and art projects.

The Cape Cod Camino Way is her story of asking questions, finding answers, and sharing what she has found. It is the story of building awareness toward true social justice action for the future. "A rare hurricane watch is in effect for New England, with forecasters warning Tropical Storm Henri will likely develop into a hurricane before making landfall this weekend — which would be the region's first hit since 1991."

With Tropical Storm Henri strengthening, resort areas such as Martha's Vineyard, Block Island and Nantucket are in the watch zone this weekend, as are parts of Long Island and Connecticut.

***I will soon have some of my art tutorial illustration videos aired on Lower Cape TV (channel 22 for those in the area) but if you don't live on Cape Cod, you will have access to viewing these via their website, https://www.ch22online.org .***

Here's the channel's write up about my art and illustration style:

"While some kids prefer stomping around on the Flats and picking up sea creatures, other children prefer to swoosh their hands in paint, smudge pastels, and draw. Still other youngsters remain transfixed on their iPads and seem to adapt to technology tools at light speed. Community Partner, John Small, shares his illustration videos with Channel 22 (both on-air and coming soon to our website). An artist who is comfortable with both pencil and stylus, John’s storybook style literally comes to life in the videos, offering inspiration and how-to tips for artists of any age. Enjoy John’s videos some rainy day with your kids–and feel free to share what they make with us!"

If anyone can recommend a good, reliable pet groomer in the mid Cape area, please post in the comments below.

We had been going to The Hair of the Dog in Osterville, they always did a great job but when we tried to schedule an appointment with them yesterday, they told us they're no longer accepting pets to groom, only washing - and only if the dog has no tangles or matting.

This has really left us in a tough spot as they were the goomer we had gone to since moving to the Cape nearly 5 years ago.
When we questioned them further as their answering machine doesn't state what we were told above, we discovered that they are only grooming existing clients pets who have their pets brought in on a very regular schedule of every two weeks or so and they pointed out, we haven't brought our Doodle in since Oct.

Anyway, we are now searching for a reliable groomer for our beautiful goldendoodle.

In case you had missed this previously.
Here's a video on my YouTube channel, it's an old audio file of my dad, John R. Small, on WOCB radio on Cape Cod where he introduces his in-studio guest, storyteller extraordinaire, George Washington Snow of Provincetown, MA. George tells us, in his own inimitable way, about the story of his pet seagull.
My dad published The New Beacon newspaper - and this booklet, "The Cape Cod Lyars' Handbook - The Snow Job" in Provincetown through his company, 'New Beacon Publishing, Inc." in Provincetown on Cape Cod in the late 1940's until the early 1950's.
