This morning I wake up singing 10,000 Reasons, grateful for another year of life and all that God has done for me (and maybe it’s 6:30am and maybe my kids are sleeping… but it’s my birthday and I’m praising my King).

I hear a tiny knock on my door, and it’s my daughter. She rubs her sleepy eyes and says, "Mommy, can you be a little quieter? I just want to get the last 30 minutes left of sleep before I have to wake up." 🥲

So as I tiptoe around with a smile on my face, reflecting on the love that surrounds me, I'd like to spread that joy. 9 years ago today I lost my mom to ALS.
She was 61 years old.
She was kind, gentle, loving and, most of all, she loved the Lord.
As the years go by, there is not a day that I don't miss my pretty lady. Sometimes it feels like yesterday and others like eternity. But even in my grief, I am comforted by knowing that my mom loved the Lord and called Him her Saviour, and so there is HOPE! Because the ones who are called by His name are not forsaken, they are His. He has prepared a place for her and I can rejoice in knowing that. So even though my time with her was short, I am grateful for the years I was blessed to have her as my mom💕

God’s word is so clear! Lack of listening, combined with careless speech, leads to ill-tempered action.

This verse speaks of the anger of man, which is the quick-tempered, selfish anger of the world. As Christians, our lives ought to reflect God's standard for right living.

This is only possible when we are in our Word. We cannot reflect what we do not behold and we cannot imitate what we do not know.

To be able to rejoice in the midst of trouble, we must consider the difficulties of life through the eyes of faith. We are to look at them from the perspective of God's ultimate purpose.

Don't resent trials as intruders, their purpose is to test our faith and to develop endurance in us. So that at the end of our days we can say "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Today’s my birthday.
I like to use this day as a checkpoint.

Where am I spiritually? Am I trusting God with everything that is going on in my life? Am I waiting on God or relaying on my own strength???

Today’s scripture is Psalm 62:1-2.

There is a temptation sometimes to despair rather than seek security in God. I want to encourage you to put your trust in our only reliable Hope Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
