I need to get into a flow
Let the words come out
And let their story be heard
So I can finally rest

A sound that reassures
Not silent but almost unheard
It's subtle but it's the only sound
That makes it even sweeter

A gentle wave caresses my arms
Soft gusts of wind take me away
I'm caught in an endless stare
Luckily, you don't seem to mind

Soft sheets wrap round my legs
Streaks of light dots the window
Curtains take the form of ocean water
Complimented by the yellow moon glow

Temperature wise, it is just right
A chilly night that's simply perfect
Perfect for a moment like this
A moment that I want to stay in for eternity

I can hear soft sounds up above
It devolves into the chatter of the roof
And the smell sets in
How perfect, the cries of the sky

It gets a bit more chilly
But these sheets shall suffice
all the warmth beside me
That's all I'll need

It wasn't like this earlier
It was a mess you know
Yes, I had you in my arms
But that's because your legs gave

As tears fall from your eyes
I couldn't let the light be snuffed out
So you cover up a candle with your hand
Especially when the wind blows hard

I couldn't stand by and watch anymore
I dove in and poured my heart out
It overflowed and little did I know
That was all you needed

Now you're still in my arms
But I only hear the sound of your breaths
It's peacful...
Life's present, rather than it's absence

I could live in this moment forever
But I have more to do
I swear you'll shed no tear anymore
I swear you'll finally get what you deserve

I promise this: you'll never be alone anymore
For life's gonna have to take my soul
Before I let your heart be broken once more
Before I ever let any tear of sadness fall

This is my promise to you
And I ask only one thing in return
You keep fighting, living and dreaming
For I await till I see the genuine smile
That made me fall for you so long ago
