Let's meet our 2024 Distinguished FHSD Staff, Tori Casteel, 5th grade Language Arts teacher at Maddux!

Tori has been teaching for 21 years and has spent the majority of her career at Maddux and is a proud Mustang! She attended Maddux, Anderson, and The Ohio State University where she received her Masters of Education in 2004. She is married and has 3 amazing kids that attend, Maddux, Nagel and Anderson. She loves working and living in the same community!

Tori enjoys running Student Council at Maddux and serves as a director for Camp Kern.

One experience that stands out to Tori is when a senior handed her a handwritten note during the Maddux Senior Walk last year. In that note, the student told Tori that she is the reason that student has decided to become a teacher!

Plan Your Red, White and Blue Entry for 2024 Parade

Mark your calendar for a highlight of the summer season- Anderson’s signature Independence Day Parade!

Applications for the parade entries open next Monday, April 22nd. The 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4th parade follows the same path as in previous years, starting at the Anderson Township Operations Center, 7954 Beechmont Ave., and ending at Anderson Towne Center.

Pick up parade registration forms on or after the 22nd at Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road, or on the township’s website, AndersonTownshipOH.gov (under the 'News & Events' section).

Volunteers are needed – it’s a great way to participate as an individual or organization! Contact Steve Sievers at [email protected] or 513.688.8604 for more information.

Protect Greenspace From Encroachment

Taxpayer-funded Greenspace is one of Anderson Township’s valuable assets. It consists of 780 acres of protected land, across 72 parcels, that provides a natural buffer for wildlife and also creates green spaces around neighborhoods.

However, occasionally Greenspace is misused through by individuals on recreational vehicle, by those chopping or felling wood, or by neighbors who extend their yard into the green spaces.

Christmas tree dropping needles all over your floor? Bring it to St. Tim's by this Saturday to have it shredded! We'll use the mulch for our new pumpkin patch, OR you can take it home with you (just come between 10am and 12:30pm this Saturday). Pile them at the back of the East parking lot, turn at the light to find the right place!

Let's keep these trees out of the landfill and doing what they do best - riding the cycle of life!
