Now on view! Come and see The Dry: Black Women's Legacy in a Farming Community at El Pueblo History Museum.

The Dry was a predominantly Black farming community in southeast Colorado founded in the early 1900s. Part of the long and often overlooked history of Black accomplishments in the Centennial State, this exhibit explores the legacy of the powerful women who built and sustained this close knit community.

This powerful exhibition explores how, despite challenging conditions, the families of The Dry persevered, transformed the landscape of southeast Colorado, established a community that existed outside of a racially segregated America, and forged a legacy of freedom, family and resilience.

Last year was a whirlwind (to put it mildly) with opening the Chief after extensive renovations and transitioning to the new spaces and realities. Unfortunately, we weren't able to offer season tickets last year, but we have them this year and they are an AMAZING deal. You can get 2 season tickets for only $120 (that's a 40% discount!).

Our memberships and season tickets are really what makes us able to continue offering low cost tickets and classes for kids and adults. Many people don't realize that tickets for shows do not generally cover the production costs. But memberships are really what allows us to continue offering performances and opportunities to the Pueblo community.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to welcoming all our new members at the Descendants! https://www.steelcitytheatre.org/members-and-season-tickets or call 719-994-8298
