Hey! We’re glad you're here for another conversation centering around music paralysis, curiosity, discovery, and the human experience.

Today on the show, the Spicy Boys had Phoenix, AZ-based comedian and friendly neighborhood Erick Biez (a.k.a. Tony Gonzalez) by for a chat on Graveyard's 2018 LP "Peace"

We taped this episode early in 2022 and given Erick's ilk [as a comic], we found particular value in dusting this episode off and getting it to your earholes. By all objective assessments, it's been a rough year and sometimes we just need a little silliness and levity.

So we hope the official Season 2 Poker Night Episode brings you a laugh or two or three and also opens your heart and mind to some tasty hard rock with some deep soulful vibes.

We’re keeping the curiosity flowing in this second part of season two with our AMAZING guest Victoria Shen or as she goes by in her many creative endeavors. We discussed Brainiac’s 1996 LP Hissing Prigs in Static Couture; if you’ve ever found joy in ensembles like Nine Inch Nails , At The Drive In , The Locust , or genres like math rock, post punk, post hardcore, or experimental pop, you’ll want to catch this discussion on one of the progenitors of alt genres as they exist today.

Also, fun fact, cops in the United States have something to learn from law enforcement in Japan and Iceland; put the military grade bu****it down, fam #1312

We hope you find something new or something curious in this episode; let us know in the comments! Stay spicy, little chilis. 🌶

Victoria Shen is a life-force of insanely creative ideas and commanding performances. We had a lot of fun sitting down with her and talking about her process, how she creates sound devices, AI rendering, iron oxide tattoos, and so much more. NEW 🔥 EPISODE 🔥 VIBES
We're pretty chuffed for this one, gang. We spoke with Sim of SEIMS (and like six other rad projects) back in late March about his friend and collaborator 's new EP "God Carrier" and we're SO HAPPY to finally get to share this conversation with you all!

We hit all the important points: dissing the Red Hot Chili Peppers, whether 17 years was worth the wait for Fear Inoculum, 's many uses which includes soothing toddlers and plenty of gushing over - we hope you'll join in on the conversation, leave us your thoughts in the comments below.

Howdy team! In this episode we got DEEP into post-rock and ambient as genres with “Downer Shoegaze” trio Ghost Island outof Phoenix, Arizona. We discussed Sigur Rós’ 2002 album “( )” and really journeyed into the beautiful and serene spaces that not only Sigur Rós, but other artists within this space tend to create. If you’re looking for a deep dive into some cinematic and epic sounding brain food, this episode is for you.

In this episode Connor and Andrew were graced by the prowess and perspectives of Micah Hummel , Portland-based drummer & musician who has an impressive list of collaboration credits to his name. We talked sensory percussion ( seriously mind-blowing s**t from ), how we tend to disconnect from the things we know in some subconscious way—even if we love those things, and 2021 album “The Knees Start to Go”

We hope you find something new or something curious in this episode; let us know in the comments! Stay spicy, little chilis. 🌶

We are back and HOT DANG gang, it’s only been two weeks but we’ve missed you and we hope you’ve missed us.

Today we had an INCREDIBLE guest who is doing truly mind-blowing and inspiring things as a sound artist and researcher. Like leveraging robotics to create music from otherwise innocuous movements of the body: a shifting of the eyes, a lid closing! 🤯🤯🤯

We’re elated to welcome Ivana Dama .dama to the show in our ninth episode of our second season. She brought Goran Bregović’s soundtrack to the 1993 film by Emir Kusturica ‘Arizona Dream’ to our ear holes – a perplexing glimpse into human connection, dreams, ambition, and where these things sometimes fail to intersect. The soundtrack itself reads as the dream-time Americana soundtrack of someone who may have never experienced the West beyond a television screen and carries with it the weight of conflicts in Eastern Europe around the time of the film’s release.

Ivana has an exhibition opening produced in part by Harvest Works and in conjunction with The Governors Ball music festival on May 28, so if you’re in the neighborhood, check out Ivana’s work IRL.

We hope you find something new or something curious in this episode; let us know in the comments! Stay spicy, little chilis. 🌶

WTF IS GOING ON FAM?! We mean that in the exclamatory way and not like, a super casual greeting. In this episode, we were joined by the magnificent and majestic CJ Boyd .j._boyd : former permatouring music wizard, political activist and social justice advocate.

We taped this show the day Russia invaded Ukraine. We’re releasing this show less than 48 hours after published a leaked draft opinion to repeal Roe v. Wade. This is truly the worst timeline.

Instead of teasing the show, we want to encourage you all to GET INVOLVED however you can; support the right to choose, support the right to bodily autonomy, support your friends, support your neighbors, support organizations fighting to preserve these rights for all - we’re raising funds for The Satanic Temple, who does incredible work around reproductive rights - check the link in bio for more on their work

CJ Boyd brought to us the lovely, experimental sounds of Cher Von and her Banyan Tree EP. This is a great entry point for anyone curious about exploring experimental music. ‍ CJ Boyd dropped a live album, via Gold Lion Arts, in February of 2022.
