The NFNM Labor Day Weekend Trek-A-Thon starts tonight. Come watch Star Trek with us as we raise money for the KC Tenants organization. You can watch our commentary on Twitch while syncing up episodes on Parmount plus (or DVDs if you have them). See you there!

Here at New Faith New Media we are devoted to siding with the oppressed over the oppressor, and because of that we have (among many others) two great loves: Unions and Star Trek. Because of these loves, we have decided on this Labor Day weekend to undertake a new endeavor, a 24 hour *Star Trek* marathon to raise money for KC Tenants, a citywide tenant union organized and led by a multigenerational, multiracial, anti-racist base of poor and working class tenants in Kansas City. KC Tenants organizes to ensure that everyone in Kansas City has a safe, accessible, and truly affordable home. We will be using the Unitarian Universalist Share the Plate Model with 25% of gifts going to support NFNM and 75% going directly to KC Tenants.
On September 2nd 5pm central time we will begin the marathon. Until then, anyone who wishes can help choose the playlist by donating $25 per episode or $50 per movie. (To be clear, each individual episode is $25, so “The Best Of Both Worlds, Part I” would be $25 and “The Best Of Both Worlds, Part II” would be another $25.)
At 5pm, all participants will begin watching together via an online watch party and our conversations and reactions will be live streamed. The NFNM Board will be participating, but anyone who wants to join us can sign up until August 27th and can find themself sponsors who agree to donate a set amount of money per hour of Trek watched and then collect the money after the Trek-A-Thon. The NFNM Board will keep track of how much time each participant is actively watching and participating in the Trek-A-Thon.
