Following events today, the FAW have said that Ryan Giggs will not attend Wales' press conference on Thursday to announce his squad and their games later this month which includes their final Nations League games with Ireland and Finland, assistant coach Robert Page will take charge in his place.

Wales are top of their group in Nations League B4 leading Finland by 1 point, either can still qualify for League A with the advantage to Wales, they can get qualification with a Win and a Draw either way, otherwise they would need to win both games.

30/10/2020

Sad News this afternoon, the legend that is Nobby Stiles, a flying midfielder in the 1960's and 70's that was integral to the 1966 England World Cup squad and Manchester United's 1968 European Cup Squad, has died after a long battle with illness, he was 78.

FOOTBALL ROUND-UP

No proper news locally...apart from The New Saints winning 10-0 over Flint Town...yikes (that could've been Prestatyn...looks like that out of date TV Gantry was a blessing in disguise)...anyways...

So this Football season is utterly strange, you got Everton on top after 4 games, no losses for them so far, it's like James Rodriguez has suddenly turned this Everton team, into World Beaters...

Just like with Van Dijk did to Liverpool from 2018 and Fernandes doing to United from earlier this season not to mention the addition of Van der Beek (more players needs to come Old Trafford, will get to that soon btw), James has really turned Everton around...

I should point out that Everton at the beginning of last season was struggling immensely under Marco Silva, then came Carlo Ancelotti (a surprise at the time) and James Rodriguez this season (another surprise) and Everton seem the team to beat right now, n.m. City or Chelsea...

Elsewhere in Football, Newport County are Top of the Table in League 2, something they last claimed after the first match of the League 2 campaign in 2013-14, their first back in the Football League...to put this in retrospect, in 2019 they made into the Playoffs just narrowly...

They made the Playoff Final, but lost in Extra Time to Tranmere Rovers 1-0 in the very last minute...if anything is to go by their form this season, it's Newport's time to shine and get into League 1...

My Prediction for Newport County this season, should they keep this form afloat (with some bumps along the way as there will be) is that the Amber Army will finish at least 4th or 5th if it goes like it is now, but hope they will push for automatic promotion...

The National League this season is full of optimism for 1 club and sadness for another that will never play again, starting with the latter is that Macclesfield Town, who were relegated last season on the PPG system thanks to Covid, has actually folded before the season start...

This is I believe the 4th or 5th in England to be affected by the Covid crisis financially and the financially the 7th or 8th team in England over the last year or so to be in proper financial difficulty Covid or not...this proves that the FA NEEDS to help out clubs more...

Price Caps on salaries and transfers as well as more football-hungry owners running clubs and no more owners that use clubs to make more buck than the club itself, every single organisation in Football needs to help more small clubs in the future to stop them from going broke...

Things like this need to be introduced, because the more clubs go the more time that football starts to die in this country and football unites these Isles...take that away and you got less to be happy and joyous about...

But to end this on a Happy and Joyous note is the other team that will be getting A-Lister backing from Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, that other team is Wrexham ofcourse...

I tell you, since the beginning of the Covid crisis, this is the best news Wrexham got in recent times and Reynolds himself is keeping a keen eye by checking out the game against Boreham Wood which he put on his Insta-story, so it's all good for Wrexham atm, just keep the MP away...

Finally, back to the top of the English pyramid and one club has always cropped up and it's no surprise at the moment, Manchester United and it's ever-growing problems in the transfer market...

They brought in 1 player in Donny Van Der Beek, no one else so far and no proper deadwood has been sold yet, we're less than 60 hours from the transfer window closing and the pressure is HEAVING on the club...this is a saga that in the views of many is starting to get boring...

We all know about the Glazers taking money out of the club to fund their own interests, we all know about Ed Woodward trying everything he can to shift blame to everyone else and not make himself accountable for what he's not done in the transfer market since he took over...

This is why you see the trends of and every time United make a bad decision in the transfer market for the past few years because the majority of the fanbase as well as some parts of the Worldwide Media are now beginning to understand the truth more...

That United's business doesn't have a final say by the manager, if it had then the likes of LVG and/or Mourinho would still be at Old Trafford making proper business off the pitch and getting the best team performances on the pitch...

but don't discredit Solskjaer for giving his absolute soul into this club that made his playing career and would want to properly make his managerial career work and 3rd place for him last year was a huge statement of intent from him...

but not being backed by the hierarchy at Old Trafford is just heart-breaking on his behalf and if he does get sacked (which I hope he doesn't with the work he's put in), then the majority of the fanbase Will not and I repeat Will not forgive or trust the club anymore...

This has gone for too long as far as the hierarchy is concerned, the discontent among fans is evident by the Day, Week, Month, Year and soon to be Decades...as far as I'm concerned, this needs to end now before it's too late for United as a Football Club...

Some Good News Last Night

My Twitter account has been reinstated, so if you want to check it out it's .

Anyways It's good to be coming back and in better health, for the past week or so, I've been recovering from a Lung Operation to remove a dormant tumor in my lower left Lung, that won't be the only thing for me to be fixed, Because I got another dormant tumor to remove in my thyroid gland, I should add that both tumors are small, so after all this is over, I'm going to be in much better health than I was previously, I would like to thank those who sent their support to me over the past 2 months.

So in essence this is basically a confirmation that Squire On Sport IS returning in the next couple of weeks and it's brilliant timing with the switch to FM for Sound Radio Wales closing in fast and some brilliant Sports stories over the last month, which includes a Big story about potential investment from Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney into Wrexham AFC, that's an exciting prospect if anything, so really looking forward to this development if anything else.

So do check out Sound Radio Wales when you can and you'll hear from me back on the air sooner the better.

BREAKING:

After being relegated 2 years ago, West Bromwich Albion are back in the Premier League once again after a 2-2 draw with QPR and after Brentford failed to win against Barnsley who themselves unofficially survive.

Brentford will now contest the playoffs against Swansea City who took 6th on GD after Nottingham Forest conceded 4 against Stoke while Swansea scored 4 past Reading, Cardiff will face off in the playoffs against Fulham.

As mentioned Barnsley unofficially survive, the official survival award goes to Luton Town who won 3-2 against Blackburn Rovers.

It's all over for Hull City, Wigan Athletic (pending on their 13 point deduction) and Charlton Athletic as they all face the prospect of League One Football next season.

It gets better and better for Leeds United in the space of 24 hours, not long after promotion confirmed last night, but this afternoon after Brentford's shock 1-0 loss to Stoke, Leeds are proclaimed as Champions of the Championship.

This result also means that West Brom's automatic promotion fate is still in their hands, if they win against QPR on the Final Day, they will be back in the Premier League, if Brentford wanted to be promoted then they need for West Brom to slip up against QPR with a Draw or a Loss and the Bees get a win against relegation threatened Barnsley, both matches will take place next Wednesday.

BREAKING NEWS:

Rhyl FC has released a statement announcing that they have began a formal winding up of the company after various attempts to save the Football Club.

The company formally known as 'Rhyl FC Belle Vue Ltd' has gone on to say in the statement that

"The difficult decision was taken by the Board of Directors after considering the financial impact of the suspension of all football activities due to the unprecedented impact of Covid 19, the unwillingness of the Ground’s owner to consider either a long lease or sale on market terms and the ongoing fixed costs with no income prospects."

Neighbouring rivals (and Cymru North (defacto) Champions) Prestatyn Town FC have paid their respect in a tweet saying: "This is a massive blow for football in the local community & welsh football in general, We are sorry it ended like this for you all"

Prestatyn Town themselves are appealing to be granted a FAW Tier 1 Licence that allows them to compete in the Cymru Premier after they've been rejected following planning problems with the TV Gantry.
