FOOTBALL ROUND-UP
No proper news locally...apart from The New Saints winning 10-0 over Flint Town...yikes (that could've been Prestatyn...looks like that out of date TV Gantry was a blessing in disguise)...anyways...
So this Football season is utterly strange, you got Everton on top after 4 games, no losses for them so far, it's like James Rodriguez has suddenly turned this Everton team, into World Beaters...
Just like with Van Dijk did to Liverpool from 2018 and Fernandes doing to United from earlier this season not to mention the addition of Van der Beek (more players needs to come Old Trafford, will get to that soon btw), James has really turned Everton around...
I should point out that Everton at the beginning of last season was struggling immensely under Marco Silva, then came Carlo Ancelotti (a surprise at the time) and James Rodriguez this season (another surprise) and Everton seem the team to beat right now, n.m. City or Chelsea...
Elsewhere in Football, Newport County are Top of the Table in League 2, something they last claimed after the first match of the League 2 campaign in 2013-14, their first back in the Football League...to put this in retrospect, in 2019 they made into the Playoffs just narrowly...
They made the Playoff Final, but lost in Extra Time to Tranmere Rovers 1-0 in the very last minute...if anything is to go by their form this season, it's Newport's time to shine and get into League 1...
My Prediction for Newport County this season, should they keep this form afloat (with some bumps along the way as there will be) is that the Amber Army will finish at least 4th or 5th if it goes like it is now, but hope they will push for automatic promotion...
The National League this season is full of optimism for 1 club and sadness for another that will never play again, starting with the latter is that Macclesfield Town, who were relegated last season on the PPG system thanks to Covid, has actually folded before the season start...
This is I believe the 4th or 5th in England to be affected by the Covid crisis financially and the financially the 7th or 8th team in England over the last year or so to be in proper financial difficulty Covid or not...this proves that the FA NEEDS to help out clubs more...
Price Caps on salaries and transfers as well as more football-hungry owners running clubs and no more owners that use clubs to make more buck than the club itself, every single organisation in Football needs to help more small clubs in the future to stop them from going broke...
Things like this need to be introduced, because the more clubs go the more time that football starts to die in this country and football unites these Isles...take that away and you got less to be happy and joyous about...
But to end this on a Happy and Joyous note is the other team that will be getting A-Lister backing from Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, that other team is Wrexham ofcourse...
I tell you, since the beginning of the Covid crisis, this is the best news Wrexham got in recent times and Reynolds himself is keeping a keen eye by checking out the game against Boreham Wood which he put on his Insta-story, so it's all good for Wrexham atm, just keep the MP away...
Finally, back to the top of the English pyramid and one club has always cropped up and it's no surprise at the moment, Manchester United and it's ever-growing problems in the transfer market...
They brought in 1 player in Donny Van Der Beek, no one else so far and no proper deadwood has been sold yet, we're less than 60 hours from the transfer window closing and the pressure is HEAVING on the club...this is a saga that in the views of many is starting to get boring...
We all know about the Glazers taking money out of the club to fund their own interests, we all know about Ed Woodward trying everything he can to shift blame to everyone else and not make himself accountable for what he's not done in the transfer market since he took over...
This is why you see the trends of and every time United make a bad decision in the transfer market for the past few years because the majority of the fanbase as well as some parts of the Worldwide Media are now beginning to understand the truth more...
That United's business doesn't have a final say by the manager, if it had then the likes of LVG and/or Mourinho would still be at Old Trafford making proper business off the pitch and getting the best team performances on the pitch...
but don't discredit Solskjaer for giving his absolute soul into this club that made his playing career and would want to properly make his managerial career work and 3rd place for him last year was a huge statement of intent from him...
but not being backed by the hierarchy at Old Trafford is just heart-breaking on his behalf and if he does get sacked (which I hope he doesn't with the work he's put in), then the majority of the fanbase Will not and I repeat Will not forgive or trust the club anymore...
This has gone for too long as far as the hierarchy is concerned, the discontent among fans is evident by the Day, Week, Month, Year and soon to be Decades...as far as I'm concerned, this needs to end now before it's too late for United as a Football Club...
