Pinterest can have this reputation to be a platform mostly aimed at women and yes women are the majority of users on the platform but your audience is mostly composed of men, you should still give it a shot.

Your audience will be smaller BUT men are much quicker to buy from shops they discovered than women. On average, men will make fewer searches before buying and they're also willing to spend more on a brand they have heard of. What does it mean for your strategy on Pinterest? You should aim to reach them as early as possible during their inspiration phase for the best conversion rates.

Don’t wait until December to start promoting your product/service, you’re better off allocating your festive season campaigns and budget throughout a longer timeframe. Some of my clients start their campaigns and slowly ramp them up as early as August.

If there's one stat that doesn't really matter on Pinterest, it's the impressions. A big shiny number is always impressive to look at but you could have 1M monthly impressions and still very little outbound clicks to your content.

The best thing is to focus on other stats that are much more precise, and that allow us to know if our content is liked or optimized.

- For a very long time, the number of followers didn't really matter on Pinterest, it's changing so it's good to keep an eye on that number and its growth.

- Outbound clicks. The number of people that have clicked on your pins and visited your website through Pinterest.

- Individual Pins and Idea Pins stats. What has been working lately? What has not worked? Can I create more content around the content that worked?
