NSCDC officer allegedly punched singer Yinka Ayefele, threatened to shoot him, for refusing to give them money.
โ–ช๏ธŽNSCDC reacts.

โ–ช๏ธŽYinka Ayefele's account of what happened:
โ€œI was moving out in my car after entertaining guests, the officer suddenly dipped his hand into my car to take my money but I resisted him and told him what he did was very wrong."
โ€œThat was how he gave me a punch on my mouth, I had cut on my lips and blood started gushing out."

"When I called my security detail to hold him, he stood in the front of my car, corked his rifle and threatened to shoot me.
โ€œAt that point, his colleagues came and I explained what he did to them. While trying to shield him, they said why am I fighting them, that I am a public figure and I donโ€™t want to give them something? I said if I didnโ€™t want to give him something, I wouldnโ€™t have stopped, wind down my car. I have settled the area boys and others. I wept profusely, because they did this to me because I am physically challenged."

NSCDC's Reaction:

"The attention of the management of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been drawn to the news ..... on a case of alleged physical assault on a popular Nigerian gospel singer, Yinka Ayefele by an operative of NSCDC.

".....condemn in very strong terms such untoward attitude which is unbecoming of an officer of the law.

"....Consequently, the Commandant General has ordered that all concerned officers be identified and summoned immediately to the National Headquarters for necessary disciplinary action....".

"......The Corps will therefore leave no stone unturned in making sure that justice is served in this matter and erring officers found culpable be decisively dealt with to serve as deterrent to others......"
~DC O. Odumosu,
DPR, NSCDC Hdqs, Abuja.

โ–ช๏ธŽThe incident occurred in Iloro Ekiti, where he (Ayefele) went to entertain guests at an event.

JUST IN: โ€œWeโ€™re done with negotiations, Strike can end tomorrowโ€ โ€“ ASUU

Hope rose again for students of public universities as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday said it had completed negotiation with the Federal Government on the issues that led to its 141-day-old strike.

โ€œThe strike can end tomorrow. We are done with the negotiations and now waiting for the government to call us for the signing of the renegotiated agreement,โ€ ASUU President Emmanuel Osodeke, announced.

Osodeke was however quick to explain that all the issues that led to the strike remained unresolved since a pact has yet to be signed by the parties to the dispute.

The ASUU boss, who was featured on Channelsโ€™ Politics Today, listed the non-revitalisation of infrastructure in the universities and the disputed mode of payments to university teachers as some of the issues.

He attributed the lingering strike to what he called a lack of will by the government to do the needful.

Osedeke explained that ASUU embarked on the strike after exhausting all avenues available to amicably resolve the issues with the government.

His words: โ€œIf the government had been willing to resolve the issues affecting Nigerians, then there would be no need to go on strike. The problem is the will of the government to resolve issues,

โ€œAll the issues that made us go on strike are still there; that is the revitalisation fund that is putting more money into universities and revitalising the infrastructure in the universities. โ€œThere is also the issue of our mode of payments in the universities.

There is no university in the world where lecturers are paid salaries from the Accountant Generalโ€™s Office.

โ€œWe have challenged them to provide one, if universities are a universal body, why are they doing things differently? โ€œWe talk of negotiation of the agreement, the proliferation of universities, among others, so there are lots of issues that they have not resolved.

Only three more days, all airlines in Nigeria will shut down โ€“ Chairman Air peace, Allen Onyema

Nigerian Airline operators are demanding operational licenses from the federal government to begin importation of fuel, following the recent fuel scarcity across the country.

Air peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, warned that Airlines in the country would shut down operations over the non-availability of Aviation fuel to run their operations.

โ€˜We have only three more days, all airlines in Nigeria will shut down. We are not threatening this country, it is a factโ€, Onyema said.

The Airpeace boss is currently speaking at a meeting of oil marketers and Airline operators at the National Assembly.

Also in attendance at the meeting is the NNPC CEO, Mele Kyari and other stakeholders.

โ€I have the mandate of all airlines to demand that Airlines begin importation of fuel, if we can buy planes of millions of dollars, we can also import fuel ourselves. Let NNPC give Airlines licenses, we want to import ourselves, Onyema insisted.

Woman jailed three years for stealing N4.644m while working as hospital revenue officer

A woman who was a revenue officer to a hospital belonging to the Federal Government and who collected the sum of N4.644 million revenue belonging to the hospital and pocketed it was on Wednesday, February 23, sentenced to three years imprisonment.

The woman, whose name was given as Mrs Dorothy Chigozie Amalili, who is a former Revenue Officer with the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu, Enugu State, was sentenced to a total of three years in jail by Justice K. Okpe of the Enugu State High Court.

This followed her arraignment by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) which accused her of diverting N4.644 million belonging to the hospital into personal use.

She was said to have been accused by the commission of knowingly furnishing false statements in respect of money received in order to conceal her actions while performing official duties as a revenue officer of the hospital.

Acording to a statement issued shortly after he conviction on Wednesday by the ICPC on its website www.icpc.gov.ng, while performing her duties, she would write the actual amounts collected from patients on the original copy of the receipts, while writing lesser amounts on the duplicate and triplicate copies of the same receipts.

This enabled her to remit lesser sum of money than the actual amount collected to the hospital, thereby fraudulently retaining the difference. She, through this deceitful means, was able to defraud the hospital of N4.644 million over a period of time.

Justice Okpe, at the conclusion of the trial, found her guilty on all the six counts brought against her. He therefore, sentenced her to a total of six years imprisonment for each of the counts which will run concurrently.

She was however given an option of a fine for being a Person Living with Disability (PLWD) as her right leg had been amputated due to a diabetic foot ulcer.

The woman was also ordered to pay back the entire sum she embezzled to the National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu as the money will be taken from her Pension Funds domiciled with a pensions funds administrator.

In the Middle of the Enemy!

Look at the picture closely, you see a cow?
The water on the fire is going to be used by the butchers to remove the hair on the body, the machine at the other end was brought by a vulcanizer to blow air into the cow for easy removal of the hair.
The dogs are waiting patiently to take their share of the cow meats and bone, the person who took this picture is the butcher, only the cow is not aware of the whole situations.
That's how some of us are, we are in the midst of enemies, and we are not aware what they are planning against us.
I pray we will never be a prey for the wicked ones in the mighty name of Jesus.
