I don't know about you but I am quite tired of the “do or die” message that seems to plague social media these days.
Starting my own business, for me, meant living on my terms. Being able to take a sick day or mental health day if I need it. After a while, I got into this mindset that if I am not hustling 24/7 I am not doing a good enough job.
Have you ever been there?
It is equally acceptable to be in a season of “hustle” as it is to be in a season of rest, and refueling.
My clients often ask me questions like: “How often should I post on Instagram? or, “What will happen if I don't post for a while?”
How much you post should be reflective of YOU. What feels good, and your desire to increase your social media presence/revenue, etc.
For some of my clients, two posts a week is what feels good. They feel like they can show up for their people without totally burning themselves out.
For other clients, they post 6x a week. Because they love being on Instagram. They have a lot to say. And they might also be in a season of ramping up for growth or a launch.
Both are fine. Both can work. What’s most important is that you honor your energy, and show up as you can, like yourself, so you can genuinely connect with your people. Genuinely meaning that you WANT to be here. It shouldn’t make you want to pull your hair out. If it does, it probably shows in your content, and that’s NOT what we want when we’re trying to grow or sustain your business.
And if you need time off, listen to yourself. Take it. We will STILL be here. Your mental health and work-life balance are far more important than the algorithm.
