has stated that Nigeria needs another

independence and should be dissolved. Uzodinma made the declaration in his article, "Nigeria's Second Independence: Why the Giant of Africa Needs to Start Over', published in Foreign Affairs.

The American magazine of international

relations and United States foreign policy is

published by the Council on Foreign Relations

(CFR).

Uzodinma's call comes as Africa's most populous nation prepares for the general elections scheduled for February and March 2023.

The author insists that one of the solutions to the political troubles of the country is its dissolution.

As citizens face serious security and economic

problems, he urged them to decide if they want Nigeria's existence as a state to continue or to expire.

Nigeria's political system defies neat packaging", stressed the son of ex-Finance

Minister and WTO DG Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

"Scholars have labeled it everything from the facetious "chaosocracy" to the more benign "entrepreneurial democracy" to the pejorative

"kleptocracy."

Uzodinma said such tags wrongly suggest that

Nigeria's problems stem from individual moral

failings within the political class.

Citing experts' recommendation of good leadership and good governance, the Harvard graduate believes no individual, however well intentioned, can fix the challenges.

Nothing should be off-limits for discussion -

even the dissolution of the country", he

suggested.

"Before doing anything else, Nigerians need to decide: Do they want the patchwork entity named Nigeria to remain Nigeria?

"It is a reasonable question, given that the country is the arbitrary product of colonial boundaries."

Uzodinma said in their quest to form a working system, citizens should not "limit their thinking to outdated and flawed U.S. and European models of democracy".

The novelist won the Hoopes Prize and Dorothy Hicks Lee Prize for Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis while in Harvard, among other honours.

Good morning and happy mid-week UmuChineke,

When history is about to be made, distraction of different forms usually rear its ugly head.

To set the records straight, I was personally attacked, verbally assaulted, and viciously condemned by familiar characters between 2015 to 2017. Those were persons who pretended to be more concerned than I was about the fate of my client- Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, but I ignored them and stood firm like the rock of Gibraltar, and ultimately recorded the uncommon feat.

That day remains evergreen in my memory. It was on the 28th day of April 2017, when my indefatigable Client - Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was granted bail against all odds, and he walked down the staircase of the Federal High Court, Maitama, Abuja a free person.

In the present rcumstance, as we are now relentlessly progressing towards another landmark for history to be made, the detractors are at it again.

Over the years, these minions and agents of distraction have not changed, they have remained constant in their "hide and seek" game with the sole intent of causing mischief. However, I am neither perturbed nor distracted because my eyes are fixed on the ball.

Therefore, my humble appeal to you UmuChineke, is for your unshaken solidarity and unrelentless prayers because history is about to repeat itself, this time in a more astounding manner.

May the Almighty Chukwuokike Abiama, the Mighty Man in battle continue to intercede for us.

Nigeria Police Force deploys 2 DIGS, 5 AIGS, 14 Commissioners of Police, 31 Deputies Commissioners of Police, 48 Assistant Commissioners of Police and 34,587 personnel made up of conventional police officers, Police Mobile Force (PMF), Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU), Special Forces personnel. Others are the Explosives Ordinance Unit (EOD), Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), INTERPOL, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Police Medical Teams as well as the Police Airwing, the Force Marine and the Force Animal Branch.

IPOB: Allow Biafra Form Their Own Country - Northern Coalition Ask Court

The coalition of Northern Groups has filed a case asking the court to compel the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives to hasten the exit of the South eastern region out of Nigeria.

They pleaded that this should be done before

the conclusion of the ongoing amendment to

Nigeria's constitution.

The secession request was contained in a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/538/2021 instituted by the group of elders and politicians from the North led by Nastura Shariff, Balarabe Rufa'l, Abdul Aziz Sulaiman and Aminu Adam.

In their suit, they argued allowing the Igbo to secede would end violence and destruction in the South-East.

They also explained that this will stop the repeat of the 1967 to 1970 civil war in Nigeria that led to wanton destruction of lives and property.

They also said this would put an end to the

agitations by members of the Indigenous

People of Biafra led by Nnamdi Kanu.

They prayed for, among others, a declaration that combined effect of the provisions of Section 4 of the Nigerian constitution and Articles 1, 2, and 20(1) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act 2004, the National Assembly, sued as the fourth defendant "is empowered to set in motion a framework for a referendum to allow the South-eastern region of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to decide on their bid for self -determination."

They also urged the court to order the 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants (the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the National Assembly) to provide a framework that will pave way for the self-determination of the South-eastern states so as to leave the geographical entity called Nigeria before any further step is taken to further amend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria."

To Declare Fulani Bandits As Terrorists, Enemies Of The State This was their resolution at a Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in

Katsina State on Sunday.

The call of the Conference of Speakers comes a day after Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari toed the path of his Kaduna counterpart, Nasir El-Rufai and the National Assembly that the Nigerian government should declare a state of emergency on the nation's security and declare bandits as terrorists.

Chairman of the Conference, who is also Bauchi State Speaker, Abubakar Suleiman said the resolution was part of their five-point communiqué at the end of their eight-hour deliberations.

The speakers have just concluded their third

annual meeting.

Sit-At-Home: You Will Lose Our Support - Ohanaeze Tells IPOB News Room

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Sunday, kicked against the one-week sit-at home declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

DAILY POST reported that the pro-Biafra group had threatened a one-week sit-at home if their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, was not released forthwith.

The declaration, targeted at the November 6

Anambra election, has been attracting wild

condemnation.

He said, "any declaration that unleashes untold hardship, leads to the collapse of commercial and industrial activities, boycott of Anambra elections, and interrupts the academic calendar in the Southeastern states is nonsensical, absurd, and anti-Igbo agenda, for the enemy's amusement."

While describing the order as the enslavement of Ndigbo, Isiguzoro said it was time for the Igbo to rise to the occasion and end being trampled with orders from overseas by those without any investments in the South-East".

He added that IPOB should discern that there was self-determination struggle in Africa before now. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in jail and never in the history of the movement against Apartheid was starvation, anguish, and catastrophe unleashed on Black South Africans by ANC.

"It is impulsive and reckless to order Ndigbo to observe one-week sit-at-home when it's obvious that Nnamdi Kanu will not be released without the approval of courts.

"IPOB should revisit and nullify the one week sit-at-home or they will likely lose the support of the Ndigbo henceforth, Ndigbo must participate in Anambra election and nothing should stop it".
