Drag Race Resulting in Motor Vehicle Collision
Tagum City, Davao del Norte- A motor vehicle collision transpired at 11:30 PM of February 21 along National Highway, Brgy. Canocotan near Welcon Depot wherein four (4) vehicles were involved; V1- white Suzuki Multicab, , driven by Pedje M. Delima; V2- white/black Suzuki Raider Motorcycle, driven by Jasper John E. Romero; V3- black Suzuki Raider motorcycle, driven by Angelo Zaragoza; V4- black/blue Suzuki Raider motorcycle, driven by unidentified male person.
Initial investigation revealed that allegedly all vehicles were travelling along National Highway wherein V1 was traversing across the road and executed left turn while V2, V3 and V4 coming from Tagum City heading towards Municipality of Carmen direction. Upon reaching at the aforementioned place of accident, the rear portion of V1 was accidentally hit/bumped by the front portion of V2 and while in continuous motion V3 and V4 lost its control and same fell down on the cemented road that resulted to the injuries of V2, V3 and V4 drivers and were treated by the responding City Ambulance personnel. Furthermore, V2 and V3’s driver were brought to Davao Regional Medical Center for treatment while V4’s driver left his driven vehicle and fled away to unknown direction. Due to the impact, all vehicles involve incurred damages and were placed under the custody of this station for proper disposition. Duty Traffic investigator returned to this station then conducted follow-up investigation and it was revealed that the three motorcycle were involved in drag racing activities thereat and further that persons involved verbally signified for settlement.
