34 Assam Rifles organises medical camp in Mamer Ganderbal
Press Trust of Kashmir | Ganderbal : A medical camp was organised by Mamer Company Operating Base of 34 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 3 Sector Rashriya Rifles at village Mamer on 23 June 2021 under Operations SADBHAVANA and to celebrate 50 years of victory over Pakistan.
An official said that a free consultancy was provided to all age groups of Mamer and other neighbouring villages like Thune A, B, C, Yachama, Dardwooder, Hayan, Cherwan and Hari Ganiwan. Medical care and medicines for the poor and needy people were provided free of cost during the camp.
He said that the camp was organised by the unit Regimental Medical Officer, Medical staff of Wusan Battalion and Doctor Abbas from District Hospital Ganderbal. Adherence to COVID protocols were ensured keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic by implementing social distancing, washing of hands and use of Sanitizers.
He further added that lecture on health awareness was delivered in which emphasis was laid upon maintainance of hygiene and sanitation as well as preventive measures against COVID Pandemic, followed by a class in which demonstration on Basic Life Support was given by the Regimental Medical Officer.
Pertinently, the local people participated with great enthusiasm in this practical demonstration.
Official added that a total of 149 people ( 52 Males, 59 females and 38 children) were treated and provided medicines at the camp.
Notably, unceasing efforts by Wusan Battalion to reach out to the local people was appreciated by local administration and the villagers.
