It's game day!!! Who are you rooting for? The Bills or the Lions? As a collaborative in both geographic areas, we work together on news coverage. Both Great Lakes region cities are industrial-driven, have a gritty culture and history, and are trying to find their way in a changing economic landscape. When it comes to football, well, that's another matter. The Buffalo News shed some light as to why we collaborate: We're supported by the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation, and the founder had connections in both Detroit and Buffalo. As life trustee Mary Wilson shared, “He loved both cities and he loved the game and fans, and now he’s making an even larger impact with his foundation." Go.. team!

The symbiotic relationship between the two cities and their football teams has much to do with Bills longtime original owner Ralph Wilson, who grew up in Detroit but wound up making Buffalo his adopted home.
