I’M BACK!!!! I took a break from our hunting page since January- in January I lost my hunting buddy, Jett. He Inhaled a grass awn and it punched his lung. We had a lung lobe removed, he made 100% recovery from this, until he didn’t. They missed part of the grass awn and it migrated to Jett’s heart. The damage was irreversible. We had to put in down January 30th at 19 month old. I’m ready to talk about it and share his crazy story. I’m also ready to share I will have a new pup in the next few weeks. More to come!

And just like that 2023-24 season is wrapped up. Ended the season walking in 12-15” of fresh snow from the day before. Tough for the dogs but we made some educated guesses where the birds would be and capitalized on the opportunity.

How do you have your vest setup?

Current attachments:
2 - Deep zipper pouches (1 carries first aid gear (wraps, blood clotting agent, etc)
1 - Deep/Divided Pouch (for keys, phone, multi tool and knife)
1 - R.A.T Roll (wire cutters, tweezers, and some more first aid gear)
3 - water bottle holders (1 for each dog and 1 for me
1 - Multi Purpose pocket for shells
2 - lashing straps
1 - ability to add water bladder for early season if needed

And still room for more and still feels light in weight.

Since I only have one vest my early and late season setup is the same, I just don’t use all my water pouches.

Next season I plan on adding a vest for shorter days/colder days afield where I don’t need the extra gear.
