We are extremely thankful for the ministry of the Recovering Fundamentalist Podcast and the guys! Their obedience to say yes to the Lord and begin this ministry, resulted in God opening the doors for Emily and I to meet. That, in itself, is amazing to us. Honestly, God gives good gifts!

I can’t believe we launched the RFWP podcast 14 months ago. What an adventure! 

It has been on our hearts for a while to branch out on our own, and yet we wanted to stay. We are both verbal processors, so we would process, aka “talk” ourselves in and out of that decision. I mean, it's kinda scary to step out on your own in ministry, right!?

So many have found freedom from legalism and many more need to find that freedom and grace in Christ. And further, to learn to walk in that grace He affords us. As you are aware, these needs are not exclusive to the IFB, thus our desire to reach beyond those parameters.

We are so thankful for the initial mission of the RFP that brought us together. We are also thankful for the gospel mission that will keep us together in fellowship as we move forward. We have a passion for women and men to Seek Truth and Find God’s Heart for them.

Although we won’t be under the umbrella of the network, we are definitely not going anywhere. The gratitude that we feel, for our listeners, encouragers and new friends, from the beginning of this journey, cannot be measured.

We are so excited to be relaunching soon as the SisterSeeker Podcast. Would you partner with us in prayer as we take this next step.

While at the Missouri Meet-up, Lois and Emily had the privilege of interviewing April Deerey, live and in-person!

Her story of having an abusive Father is one that is all too familiar; she shares her story of escaping her abusive father with her mom.

And then she talks about her how she found out she would never be able to carry children because of a rare health diagnosis. She sheds light on how the church environment made her feel less than because she couldn't have any children.

Her story is also one of redemption as we see her husband, James, love her so well.There is so much to learn from April's story to help us all recognize and overcome some stigmas or presuppositions that we may have.

Overall, this story is about worth and acceptance for exactly who you are and we end the episode with a story of how her husband, James, has demonstrated this so beautifully. Hope it is a blessing to you!

This story is an incredible testament to the power of prayer and the faithfulness for God.

He's always working, even when we can't see it.

Emily's Granny shares her perspective of what it was like to be on the outside of an unhealthy IFB church, what spurred her to start praying they would leave, and how important it is to keep praying even when we don't see immediate results.

We wanted to share this post, with permission from April Deery, the author, on our page. We feel that many may either feel the same, could give encouragement or note a resource that has helped.


Calling introverted ladies! What have you done to find your voice after leaving the IFB? With my husband I've always had a voice, but outside of him and a few close friends I just don't talk. I don't speak up or stand up for myself or anything really. After being verbally/mentally beaten down for so long I just gave up.
We had a meeting at work today with 6 of us. I literally said 1 word. Other than that I just hung my head and listened. My mind had plenty of thoughts, but I didn't say a single one of them.
I don't like that I'm this way and I want to change. I'm not sure if it's because of being IFB or the fact that I'm introverted or the fact that I'm a woman or all of these combined?
I love to read and work at a library so if there's a book you read to help with this, I can probably get it.
