Jehovah's Witnesses misunderstand the Trinity
Some similarities between the two "faithful and discreet slaves" -
Both deny:
1. The deity of Christ and the Trinity
2. The bodily resurrection of Jesus
Both believe:
1. That Jesus has returned spiritually and is currently fulfilling Scripture through their respective organizations
2. The belief in the 144,000 and the number being literal in meaning
3. That in order to be saved, you must be part of their respective organizations
4. That all other churches are part of “Babylon” and are being led by the Adversary and that they are the only true religion
5. In telling members to not look things up about them on the Internet or elsewhere because doing so is either, for one, ‘taking in teachings infected by dangerous demonic ideas that can poison us just as easily as can eating physical food that has been tainted with germs or toxins’, or, for the other group, “eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.”
6. Like most other high control groups, they both have a strong persecution complex which is entirely hypocritical. They speak of other churches and their members in the harshest terms imaginable, but if you simply disagree with their doctrine or organizational direction, you are persecuting them!
7. Excusing lying. On the one hand, you have Jehovah’s Witnesses constantly employing their “theocratic war strategy”, instructing its members to ‘hide the truth by action and word for the sake of the ministry’. And on the other, the other group teaching about “righteous lies” where the means in furthering God’s kingdom is called “the wisdom of hiding” and is perfectly okay with God.
Both have failed prophecies throughout their history and the concept of “New Light” to explain these glaring failures away
I could have included a THIRD group that also has a “faithful and wise servant” … but the “faithful and wise servant” of THAT group died in 2021.
