Nature, plants, reefkeeping, tiny things and absolutely all the other things that inspire me ✌️
Working on my interior plant services website. So I can become an actual pro ✌
A multitude of tiny worlds 🌏💫
It took me like 5 friggin years but I finally hit 1000 subs on Youtube. Strange part is most of that happened in the past few months😉

My wife crashed her car the other day. I didn't realized I'd recorded the story during one of my Earth To Ryan videos, but here it is.
It was very strange. In fact life is very strange. I don't know why I post on this Earth to Ryan page for example...my name is Ryan Frank I'm just a regular person. I fart things up and I say things like fart because FB made me, but I don't in my videos because I try to be a pleasant person and even though I mess up I always strive to become a better me...for Earth...whatever that means.
Anyhow...send me a friend request Ryan Frank because this is my last post on this channel. Really what I'd like to grow is my Youtube which you can find here https://www.youtube.com/itsearthtoryan so if you use Youtube...gimme a subscribe otherwise I'll be posting the videos here on my just normal person channel...and whew does it feel good dumping Earth to Ryan and just being who I always was...Ryan...and even that is just some random name I was assigned because of other souls decisions. But that makes my brain melt ✌️
To be blunt, in this video I am freeing my vining swiss cheese plant from its moss pole and instead we are hanging it up the wall with command hooks...and all the while we're gonna be talking plants and telling stories about how this swiss cheese houseplant changed my life and brought us here today.

What is your first houseplant? Do you hang plants on your walls? And one more big thank you to Griff's Greenhouse for starting me down this houseplant rabbit hole. I couldn't have done it without you and all the local greenhouses in my area. In fact I couldn't have done it without you either...it's all one big puzzle piece coming together...and now my brain is tired.

Using a smart plug isn't going to make you a better houseplant grower, but it sure is going to make the process less monotonous and clear up your valuable brain power for more important things...like new houseplants, or the next terrarium build.
⚠️ Watch on YouTube https://youtu.be/bEgdS-J-LcY
In this video I'll show you how easy it is to automate your plant room using cheap and easy to get smart plugs. If you managed to find this video you're at least twice as smart as it takes to automate your entire plant space! You can use these smart plugs as timers for your grow lights, you could connect pumps and automate misters, you could even simulate natural sunlight by timing different grow lights throughout the day. The possibilities aren't endless, but the list is quite large.

What do you get when you mix an old bonsai pot with a rooty tree stump and a bunch of ferns. It's similar to a terrarium, but rather than a tiny scoop of nature, this is like a few shovels full of nature...and we're doing it with houseplants. Ferns to be exact.
⚠️ Watch on YouTube https://youtu.be/ITmo5EsDgas
We've got rabbits foot fern, a crocodyllus, and even an impressive staghorn fern that will sit front and center. We're taking all of those plant ingredients, mixing them with some other random things like peat moss and again...a rooty tree stump and we're turning all of those things into one big, clay fern forest!

It's not just repotting plants. It's repotting baby plants from the propagation tub because I needed all the sphagnum moss I had left for my next project. While we're doing that we might as well admire how rooty our cuttings have gotten and find them all a brand, spankin' new pot to live in too.

This houseplant vlog is a bit of an in-between one. It's standard houseplant maintenance, but it's also dreaming about what's planty project will be next. Did I mention we get to admire some baby plant roots 😎

Sometimes you have to look around at all the houseplants you've somehow collected and decide it's time to trash a few. Not do the responsible thing and find new homes, or do anything the slows you down from clearing some of the space in your plant room that's been collecting things you...just...don't...love anymore.
Plus I've been extra crafty this week and somehow I managed to work a sneak peek of the next project into this video. Mostly so I could move a few things around and let ideas for the new project start marinating. If you've read this far in the description I'll give you even one more hint that you might have missed in this video. The next project also involves ferns.
To me...ferns are amazing. But they can also be a finicky bunch and sometimes they just don't seem to like you. They aren't majestic like other houseplants, but you know what. They are resilient. They are strange plants. Each and every one of them incredibly unique. But at this point I'm rambling. I tend to do that when I'm talking about houseplants.

The goal is to create a universe not only above the surface, but below as well. The ingredients...living stone. Or at least "non living" lava rock that we'll turn into a living stone paludarium by the end of this build.
A paludarium is a mixture between an aquarium and a terrarium with a terrain above the surface exposed, but also life below the surface as well. I'll be using plants and a few small fish for this less than 1 gallon pico paludarium from a local fish store called The Fish Room. I encourage you to find your local fish room! I'll also be using moss both above and below the surface and then my favorite itty bitty terrarium plant Bamboo Peperomia.
As I write this a week or so later (editing takes some time). This paludarium build has inspired me down an entirely new rabbit hole of future projects. It's DIY, it's living artwork, it's nature. That should be my new slogan.
I've had this bonsai Dwarf Shefflera growing freely on the porch for the entire summer. It's finally time to pull it up by it's roots. Give it a brand new batch of soil and of course prune and train our bonsai tree to be even more miniature tree looking for next year.
I didn't know this when I started but bonsai is simply the art form of taking an existing plant. Then pruning and training that plant until it looks like a miniature version of a tree sitting on your plant shelf. Technically any plant can be bonsai, but I've always had an affinity for one of the most common...the Dwarf Shefflera (Dwarf Umbrella Tree).
There are 4 different varieties of terrarium plants inside this box, but one of them is the cutest, most miniature, just plain adorably awesome terrarium plants I've ever seen.
I saw this plant online, I had to have it and now we get to do a terrarium plant unboxing together. I love getting new plant boxes to unbox. It's like Christmas but in a humid, tropical...much more plant like than Christmas sort of way. Enough rambling...let's get unboxing these terrarium plants.
We rearranged the plant room a few days back and now it's time to get in there and make some tweaks. For the most part we'll be setting up a few sets of Kolem grow lights.
I've had some experiences with these grow lights but not for long. When I first got them I burnt the crap out of a plant because I can only assume I had it too close. I've also learned that you can't take advantage of the dimmer functionality on the switch if you are using timers...bummer 😥 For me though...i'm using those grow lights at a distance and just letting them shine at full blast ☀️ and so far it's been all good. I don't even care about the dimmer thing.
I've been making my own cement planter pots for a little while and I've got a few tips to share with you about the lessons I've learned. I hope this video inspires you to try your hand at making your own DIY cement plant pot...or really any cement anything for that matter.
You can find your own silicone molds by searching places online like Amazon, Etsy, and I'm sure a thousand other places. When I'm choosing a silicone mold for my plants I always make sure it includes a drain hole just to save myself the headache and drilling one into every cement pot.
I'll leave you with lubricant. You don't have to spray lubricant in your silicone cement molds if you don't want to, but you won't be able to get your new cement pot out. I find this is important only on the larger pieces and isn't as necessary on the smaller pieces like the plant trays but I still give them a sq**rt of l**e anyways.
I picked up a mature pilea peperomioide a few months back and have been watching this plant sprout little pilea pups ever since. Well it's time to move the houseplants indoors and with that comes some chores. This time I'll be propagating some babies from their mother plant and I've even got a planty unboxing for you too!
The term bonsai simply means taking an existing plant and making it appear like a miniature tree. This time not only are we creating one miniature tree-like plant, but we are going to be pruning and cutting a Dwarf Jade into an entire miniature forest of Dwarf Jade trees.
I've been doing my best to convince local business owners to let me fill their unused store space with houseplants and this is a brand new plant design for one of those local stores that said "sure we'd love to house your plants." 😌
I've got an empty geometric glass vessel, 3 different flavors of moss, a few tiny rocks and a piece of terrarium wood. How do we turn these ingredients into an epic (yes I said epic) geometric (not to be confused with epic) moss wall terrarium? This is how I built it anyways and I even saved the terrarium cloud shots for the very end. It's a terra treat that just can't not be satisfying 😋

We're going to be plugging mushrooms into logs and making surprisingly snuggly wood chips beds for the other shroomy varieties. I've always wanted to grow mushrooms that I could eat in my backyard and this time we did it! In two different ways I should remind you. In case it wasn't clear in the first sentence...we're growing mushrooms in logs...and then growing a few more mushrooms in wood chips. And hopefully someday soon i'm eating those shrooms in my stir fry 🍄
It's not the fastest method to get a plant in the garden, but its the most natural, tried and true method for growing. We are planting 3 different types of exotic plant seeds and hopefully...with enough patience we'll watch these seeds grow into strong, adult plants 💪🌱 This video is about #gardening #gardeningtips #gardenerslife #growingplants #gardenvlog #growingseeds
Random handpan playing at 3am. Does reality exist? Who cares 🤪✌️
With the addition of our new porch garden space I needed to get a few extra tools. Of course I saved the unboxing for you. I won't even tell you what kind of garden tools they are except that they are of the collapsible variety and I thought they were the coolest garden tools I ever did see 😜 PS Facebook doesn't like when I share links but feel free to ask me about the products or simply find them on Amazon. The bucket is called a "Colapz watering can" and the hose is a "Royalhouse expandable hose" ✌️ #houseplantlove #houseplantaddict #plantvlog #PlantTour #gardenvibes #gardentherapy #gardenthings #tropicalplants #urbangarden
I've been gardening for long enough to know that after a good rain the forest is going to be full of mushrooms. And mushrooms are exactly what I needed to give the compost pile a kickstart towards...well composting. Join me and my son in an adventure full of shrooms and good ol' fashion garden laughs while we hunt down a bucket of shrooms to throw in the compost pile 🤣 #gardenvibes #gardentherapy #gardenthings #gardentips #composting #mushroomhunting #mushroomcompost
I came home from vacation inspired by lush, tropical plants and I had to have a whole new spot to collect a whole lot of new plants. We've got a couple things to grab and we'll be on our way to our new about to be not so secret plant place 🌴✌️ #houseplantlove #houseplantaddict #plantvlog #PlantTour #gardenvibes #gardentherapy #gardenthings #tropicalplants #urbangarden
We've all got an old garden bed that needs a bit of a refresher and that's what we're doing in the garden today. We'll be stripping an old bed of its plants, mulch and ugly brick edging and replacing it with a ton more space and a variety of new plants that I'm so excited to share with you. This is transforming an old garden bed into something new, something inspiring, and something that will give us a ton of new space to expand the garden even further. 💻 FOLLOW ME ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ItsEarthToRyan ► YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/ItsEarthToRyan #gardening #garden #diygarden #gardens #gardener #gardenlife, #gardentips #gardentipsandtricks #gardentransformation #gardentherapy #gardenvlog #gardenvibes #plantingtips #diygarden #diygardening #Diygardenideas #gardener #gardenerslife
👀 WATCH IN HD https://youtu.be/hpjWshHufBs Why buy garden soil when you can make your own DIY version for cheap? Not to mention you'll have the satisfaction of knowing every ingredient in your garden. Think of this pretty darn good garden soil as the basic mix that you can use in the garden as is...or mix in any number of additives to make it your own perfect soil blend.
