Took me five days but I finally finished it 🫠The scene is from one of my favorite books, “Radiance” by when the leads—Ildiko and Brishen— meet for the first time in the gardens right before their wedding day. Without knowing whom the other is at first, they form an attachment based on, well, just liking each other’s personality. One of the things I love about this book is how their attraction isn’t instant…in fact it’s right after this scene that they share a moment of honesty about how they see one another where she compares him to a dead eel and he compares her to a mollusk 🫣But in spite of their differences they decide to be happy with one another and treat each other as friends. Don’t worry, that doesn’t last long 😉
