For Pieter it has been a longtime dream to have a studio at home. Where he could work on his music any time of the day and week, where he could keep his instruments and have an ideal set up for him to immerse himself in music. This dream became reality and this EP is the outcome. All the tracks were created and recorded in his new studio and represent different angles of his journey 'home'. 
Where the track Labyrinth represents the long road Pieter had before feeling physically and musically at home, on the song Hush the tranquillity of finally feeling at home can be heard.

Rachmaninov played this piece ‘Lilacs’ often as an encore at his concerts. This beautiful piece is based on a poem: “(…) where the lilacs grow, I will go seek my happiness.” Originally it was a song, but Rachmaninov liked it so much himself that he made an arrangement for solo piano.
It was one of the first pieces Daria Van Den Bercken selected for her new album. While studying the piece she had a view on a lilac treee from the window of her studio.

‘I think I may say without undue pride, that I believe these three pieces will live and will take [their] place in piano literature . . . ‘. This was what Debussy wrote to his publisher about his first volume ‘Images’. And he was right.
Reflets dans l’eau is the first piece of the ‘Images’ and one of the first pieces Daria selected for her upcoming album (spring ’22).

Lili Boulanger is named one of the most exciting composers of the 20th century. First female winner of the prestigious Prix de Rome. Daughter of conservatory teacher and previous winner of the Prix de Rome Ernest and Sister of the famous composition teacher Nadia Boulanger. Unfortunately Lili died very young, 24. She left us with a small but breathtaking catalogue.
Un Jardin Clair is one of her pieces for solo piano. It is really worth listening to, especially in this recording by Daria van den Bercken.

Meet the wonderful pianist/composer Jan Groenteman Piano.

Jan was only 5 years old when he became enchanted by the piano and started playing and writing his own compositions. Creating music has always been the way for him to express his emotions. From teenage heartbreaks to grown-up stuff.
After studying at the conservatory in Tilburg and Rotterdam he wrote music and songs for theater, musical, TV, and Dutch artists besides writing his own songs and compositions.
Two years ago he felt the urge to create a solo piano album. The first single of this beautiful project will be released this Friday, June 11th. Check out Jan’s webspaces to learn more about him 🌟 📸
