This has become one of my favourite quotes recently as I’ve started reading more about creativity.

I’ve always been more of a ‘creative’ person and enjoyed creative subjects WAY (emphasis on the WAY 😂) more than academic ones. But it’s always kinda been hard for me to ‘feel creative’.

I always thought being creative and creativity involved coming up with this really brilliant idea that nobody had thought of, or creating something really
great. 🤷🏽‍♀️

In reality, I was putting creativity into a box when it’s really all about thinking ‘outside’ of it. 📦

We are all creative (yes, that means you too) and like any other muscle we can exercise our creativity by paying more attention to the things around us.

Every time you think of an alternative way to solve a problem or to do something; you are being creative! 💭

It’s something to think about next time you’re not feeling very inspired or motivated - real creativity is happening all around us every single day - it’s not stuck somewhere unstable; it’s all inside you 🤩

How would you define creativity? I want to know! 👇🏼😊

Earlier this year I set myself the goal of reading at least 1 book a month to get back myself back into the habit of reading again. 📚

And recently I was inspired by one of my friends ( ) to do book reviews of the books I was reading as a way to motivate myself.

The first book I read this year was Crushing It! by and it’s one of the things that really inspired me to start creating content and get up out of my comfort zone! 😄

I’d recommend it to anyone thinking about starting or thinking about becoming an entrepreneur.

Now tell me, what book(s) are you reading at the moment? let me know in the comments! 👇🏼😊

“I couldn’t think of a good caption”, “I don’t know what to put...”

You’ve all heard these before and you’re not alone in feeling this way!

Writing good captions can be tough but they’re a great place to connect with your audience! 😊

Don’t overthink it or waffle on too much - write how you speak! Keeping it simple will really help when it comes to writing a caption! 😄

Also think about what the purpose of the post is and just write from there.

Do you prefer longer or shorter captions? Tell me in the comments! 👇🏼

You can already start by saving this post because you’re gonna need it! 🤩

According to Instagram, over 500 million accounts use Instagram stories EVERY SINGLE DAY!

That’s a lot of people 😅

Your stories are a great place to let your audience get to know you more as a person and connect with you, so don’t neglect them!!

It’s the place where you can be a little more casual and just show what you’re doing for the day - it’s also typically where the most interaction takes place so it’s definitely worth putting some effort in! 😊

Hope this helps! 🤍

How to get more comments on your posts! 🤩

CTAs are a great way to encourage your audience to comment and interact with your posts but they can become quite annoying if you keep using the same ones over and over again! 😬

Instead, make sure they flow naturally with the rest of your caption and don’t sound way too robotic! 💡

Hope this helps!

What usually makes you want to comment on a post?? Let me know down below!! 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

DON’T fall into the trap of just posting photos of your product as way to sell it! 🛑

Trust me, that type of content doesn’t actually make anyone want to buy it 😳

People don’t initially come on to social media to buy something, they open up their phones to socialise, be entertained and connect with others!

And, PEOPLE CONNECT WITH PEOPLE! They don’t connect with brands, so you need to humanise your account as much as you can!

Show your audience who you are! Share your story! 🤍

What are some of your favourite small brands? put them down below! 🥰👇🏼

Have you ever thought about what actually makes you save a post? 🤔

Think about it… you only save the posts that save you - even if it is a while before you go back and actually look at it. 🔖

For example, when you save a quote or a motivational post, it’s because it impacted you in some way and saving it will allow you to feel it again when you open it. 😊

When you save some sort of list or recipe it’s because you feel like you’re going to need it at some point.

When you save a more technical post, it’s because you’re going to need to consult or look back at it for something.

When you save a meme it’s because you either related to it, or it reminded you of something like a conversation with a friend.

📌 So, when you go to create a piece of content, focus on the SAVE metric.
Think about how what you’re posting is going to be of some use to the person on the other side of the screen.

Does this make sense to you? What’s the type of post you save the most?? 🤔👇🏼

i used to have LOADS of memes saved 😂🤣

Check 1...2...3? 🎙

Have you heard of the new app Clubhouse yet?

It’s the latest social app to generate a lot buzz in the media and it’s got a lot of people talking (no pun intended 😂)

Do you think you’ll join Clubhouse? Let me know! 👇🏼

p.s. before you ask, no, I don’t have any invites 😂

The platform you are on impacts your growth just as much as the content you post.

Ideally we should take full advantage of the platforms we have available to us, but in the beginning stages that can seem unrealistic.

💡So look at where most of your audience is and build from there. Then you can start interlinking them making your content into a big content web!

When you’re beginning to create content it’s easy to get caught up in your busy schedule and feel like you never have enough time to create what you’d really like.

Organisation and planning are an important part of our lives and the same goes for content creation.

I put together some of the things I use the most to organise most posting schedule (and my life 😂) so I don’t stress over it too much.

Let me know if you’d like more tips like these! 🤍

Creating good content is about empathy. 💡

Empathy? Yeah… Y’know, the ability to understand and share the feelings of another? 🤔

This is what I’m talking about when I say it’s about ‘the people’ - ‘the people’ are on the other side of the screen, scrolling through their feeds right now reading what you have to say.

People initially come on to social media to - well - socialise. They come to connect and relate to one another, to share their feelings on a topic or to find some bitesized pieces of entertainment.

📌When you go to create a post it’s important to ask yourself:
- Would I consume this content?
- Is this going to be useful for something?
- Does this post help, educate, inspire or entertain?

📌a good piece of content should do at least one of these things because that is what people are after.

Remember, it’s no use to just simply post, you NEED to connect with your audience. People connect with people - not brands, shops or businesses; people. 🫂

What do you think? Fill in the blank, “a good post should _______” 👇🏼

I noticed that some people get confused by the term ‘content marketing’ and don’t really know how to apply it. 🤔

Well, just posting content is a form of content marketing - but the real difference comes in the strategic decisions made behind a post. 📌

Here’s a specific example: Maybe your business sells a bread-making machine. So your company creates content that educates people on bread making—and maybe info about how bread making works and information on the best kinds of bread. 🍞

You also write articles on the best types of cheese to melt over your bread, and produce videos on making bread for sandwiches. 🥖

📌 People learn from you, and after they trust you as a credible source, a percentage of those people then buy your bread-making machine. This is content marketing.

Are you stuck not knowing what to post?
Or worse: do you think your content isn’t good? 🤔

It’s normal to feel this way, trust me! But the good news is that in order for you to know what to post, you can - and should - analyse the content that you’re consuming.

The first step in knowing what to post is to understand what you really like to consume.

Then, from there you can go about analysing why. Doing this will bring you two valuable pieces of info:

1 - consumer behaviour - they sound like big fancy words but now you’ll just start to notice the types of photos that catch your attention, the type of text, the music, and what made that piece of content useful!

2 - references - know who your references are, they are what’s going to make you unique. If you’re a makeup artist that loves funny videos, your profile is going to be very different from one that loves a concept photo.

So, look carefully at what you’re consuming and tell me who your biggest references are here on Instagram 👇🏼
