Sean Swarner, an exceptional individual, is renowned for his astounding accomplishments and unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. Born on November 9, 1972, in Ohio, USA, Sean has overcome tremendous challenges and dedicated his life to inspiring others.

One of Sean's notable achievements includes being the first cancer survivor to conquer Mount Everest, the world's highest peak. However, his passion for adventure and making a difference doesn't stop there. He has also summited Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa 18 times!

Beyond his personal triumphs, Sean Swarner is deeply committed to helping fellow cancer survivors experience the joy of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro. As the founder of the non-profit organization, The Cancer Climber Association, he works tirelessly to support and empower cancer survivors.

Through the Cancer Climber Association, Sean organizes expeditions to Mount Kilimanjaro, providing cancer survivors with the opportunity to participate in an incredible adventure and symbolically conquer the mountain. Did you know there was a man that wanted Zambia to be the first country to go to Mars?

During the space race between the United States and the USSR, someone in Zambia had intentions to be the first country to the moon. There was a man named Edward Nkoloso that planned to make this a reality. He even planned for the nation to be the first to reach Mars!

Unfortunately, lack of funding and resources caused this space program to fail. Edward would pass away in 1989 and so would Zambia's space dreams.

Wangari Maathai was a Kenyan environmental and political activist who was the first African woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 2004. She was born on April 1, 1940, in the rural highlands of Kenya and went on to become the founder of the Green Belt Movement, an organization that empowers women to plant trees and engage in environmental conservation. Maathai was also a professor, author, and served as an elected member of Kenya's parliament. Her work in promoting sustainable development and environmental protection has left a lasting impact on Kenya and the world. She passed away on September 25, 2011, at the age of 71.

Joel Embiid is the 2022-2023 NBA League MVP (Most Valuable Player). He is a professional basketball player who was born in Yaounde, Cameroon. Growing up, he was a soccer player, but he eventually shifted his focus to basketball after being discovered by a coach who saw him playing volleyball.

Embiid moved to the United States at the age of 16 to pursue his basketball dreams. He attended high school in Florida and then played one year of college basketball at the University of Kansas, where he quickly made a name for himself as a dominant force on the court.

Despite missing his entire first two seasons in the NBA due to injuries, Embiid persevered and continued to work hard. When he finally did make his NBA debut, he quickly established himself as one of the best players in the league, earning multiple All-Star, All-NBA honors, and this year's league MVP.

Today, Joel Embiid is one of the most recognizable faces in the NBA and a true inspiration to young basketball players all over the world who dream of following in his footsteps.

Bahia Bakari is a French teenager who survived the crash of Yemenia Flight 626 in 2009. She was the only survivor among the 153 people on board the flight, which crashed into the Indian Ocean off the coast of Comoros. Bakari was just 14 years old at the time and had no previous flying experience. Her story of survival and resilience has inspired many people around the world. Since the crash, Bakari has become a motivational speaker and advocate for aviation safety.

This is the story of how a young Kenyan man survived after being attacked with a machete to his face while protecting an orphanage. It was 2012 and Omari Anthony Nyaega was 24 and studying as a civil engineer. He lived with his mother in Momma Moroa in Faraja orphanage close to the Kenya capital city of Nairobi. They refugeed children and teenagers that were abandoned on the streets. They used donations and volunteers to run the operation. During this year, the 35 orphans were being taken care of under the limited budget that they had.

Bugulars would attack this orphanage twice in a week and steal the little that they had. These events caused Omari to sleep with a hammer. This decision would end up being a smart one as he would need to use it just a few days later.

One night, Omari hears a noise on the door and suspects that an intruder is about to break in yet again. He grabs his hammer, runs to the door and hits the intruder in the face with it. The burglar while injured, escapes in the darkness and Omari feels relieved thinking that they wouldn't return again after that confrontation but little did he know that they would be back the next day.

The next night, Omari is woken up to noise at the door once again. This time, there are 3 men holding machetes looking for Omari in order to avenge their friend. The orphans wake up and Omari tries to best to take control of the situation as the children are screaming in fear. He turns his back to the bulgars and tells the orphans to stay back. When he turns around, one of the burglars strikes his face with machete. Despite this, he keeps swinging and strikes the attacker and drops him. The other two bulgars run away and Omari shuts the front door. At this point, Omari’s face is bleeding and not long after, he passes out.

The next thing he remembers is waking up in the hospital with an 11 stitch scar from his forehead to his top lip. Omari is shocked that he survived the incident but he couldn’t have guessed what would come next.

A man that was living in Kenya at the time was a volunteer at the orphanage and he heard about the incident. This man who posted this was a penn state university student and his name was Ben Hardwick. This man decided to go on reddit and share Omari’s story. He also asked for donations in order to raise $2000 for the remainder of a cement wall with barbed wire. He went by the username the lake and his post blew up with more than 3 thousands comments. Soon after the original post, they were able to raise for than $80,000.

Despite his injuries, Omari put civil engineers skills to work and spent the donations to work and finished the wall. They were also able to hire a watchman, chef, cows, bunk beds, water tanks, a playground and even started to take the orphans on field trips. Ben Hardiwck would post updates on the progress of the orphanage everybody was proud of how far they had come.

As Omari grew up, he ended up having a family and life of his own. As you might expect, he is still haunted by the incident at the orphanage and with the scar still present on his face, its easy to understand why. He still wakes up at night to see if his kids are okay and feels like he is overprotective.

The ship was over capacity and it ran into a violent storm, farther out to sea than it was licensed to. This event is known as the second worst non military disaster in maritime history with the MV Dona Paz being first. 1500 people passed on the Titanic. May they rest in peace.
