WHAT IS HAPPENING IN SUDAN?

It’s heartbreaking to see how Sudan is barely getting any coverage, not on the news or social media. This post is a very simple summary of what has been happening since April 15th.

“I still remember the day my brother died vividly.”

Osama lived through the Syrian war, and he escaped from it. His brother died, and his house was bombed before his eyes. And amid everything, he still had to leave his family and friends behind and start a new life in Spain. In today’s episode, I sit with Osama, an 18-year-old Syrian who explains his experience living through the Syrian Revolution.

When I tell you I almost cried during this episode, I’m not even joking. I was left speechless, all I could do was listen to Osama talk about how it was to see his country fall apart… Definitely give it a listen but I have to warn you, be prepared because it hurts

Being religious in the West is almost mission impossible; it's not a society for anyone who wants to become more traditional with their way of living or values. In today's episode, Firdaous and Yousra talk from different perspectives about their experiences with religion and how they see themselves in the future as Muslims. They also discuss other topics like purity and friendships.

From women's perspective, feminism is the only movement/ideology that hears us and gives us a voice; after all, we were the ones who started it. But sometimes, you realize that it is not as ideal as you thought, and not everyone benefits from it. In today's episode, Firdaous reflects on her journey trying to be a feminist (keyword: trying) and how she felt more alone than in a sisterhood. She also talks about why she "left" feminism and how she now sees the concept of relationships and freedom of choice.

This weeks episode is going to annoy a lot of people and be applauded by many others but this is not for anyone, it was important for me to share my thoughts as I feel like the “feminist Firdaous” is a chapter I closed some time ago (specifically after last year’s Women’s Day March)

I ask you to please be open minded as you listen to this one and to understand that I’m not bashing feminism here but explaining *MY* experience and that cannot be invalidated. I do discuss my views on relationships (gender roles) and freedom of choice which, if you want to talk about it, my DMs are always open

Hey everyone! Today we uploaded the first full episode of Gen Z Talks. If you've noticed, the topic on Iran is not "trending" anymore, showing how it wasn't really about women or trying to help Iranians but the same bs as always: the west finding any situation to show their racism and islamophobia.

In the episode, my co-host and I discuss the west's hidden agenda in the Middle East, the white savior complex, this fake solidarity on social media and how, again, no one cares about women or Iran.

While the mass media is beginning to give less and less coverage to the situation in Afghanistan, Afghans are still trying to fight for their lives and still need help from the outside.

In this week’s episode, Sarah and Firdaous spend more than an hour with , an Afghan living in the US, and talk about the history and people of Afghanistan. They also cover topics like the ways western media portrays the country, as well as the white savior complex and how the Islamic Shari’a is perceived.

Episode available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts and Amazon Music. Link on the bio as well!

I am so so excited to share with you guys that next week you will be listening to while she shares facts about the climate crisis and other cool (yet sad and devastating) topics.

We already recorded the episode today and we can’t stress enough how much of a good time we had. Of course, our minds were blown with all the data and answers she gave us but still, it was great to know them and bring awareness to the climate issue.

So don’t forget to save the date! Next Monday, August 16th at 5pm GMT +1 the episode will be available on all platforms, including, but not limited to, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts.

New episode out now, also on YouTube.
In this episode we discussed everything surrounding ED, diet culture and fatshaming.
We must say, it wasn’t an easy topic to talk about, we hope to hear your thoughts on it!

The EU’s Top court decided to that employers can ban the headscarf at work.
After the bill was agreed upon, hate arose as this goes against our freedom.
‘My body my choice’ is a slogan used by many women surrounding bodily autonomy.

This ban goes against our freedom, and is blatantly supporting Islamophobia.

In this episode we tackle many other related topics and dive into personal stories regarding this.

Let us know what you think in the comments!

Also we want to thank each and everyone for your support. It means alot!

Hello everyone!!
And here are the news!! While I was MIA, apart from studying for my exams, I was prepping to welcome new Gen Z to the team!
I want this project to be something more than "me," and I want you to join and make it an "us."

So if you think you the requirements above (caring about social justice, being fluent in English, and having some weekly free time), apply using the link on my bio!

Btw, everyone is welcome!! You don't have to be from a specific country or fit in a specific demographic.

If you don't want to participate, I would love it if you could send it to someone you think might be interested!

I just posted this week's episode, guys! This time I'm all alone discussing the role of Muslim women in novels, shows, and movies. I also talk about stereotypes, why they are bad, and what a good representation would be.

I really liked preparing and recording it. Plus, it was chosen by you, so I'm super excited to see if you enjoy it, too!!! By the way, do you prefer solo episodes or the ones with guests?

Hello everyone, and welcome to Gen Z Talks!

I can't believe I'm saying this already, but I'm not gonna lie, it feels so good!!! This is a project I have so much hope in and in which I'm putting all my love, so I really hope you like it.

If this is the first time you're on this page and don't know who I am, let me introduce myself:

Hey, I'm Firdaous! I'm a Muslim human rights activist that loves talking to others and start conversations about literally anything and everything. I love listening to different perspectives as well.

That is why I started "Gen Z Talks," a podcast/platform where Zoomers can come together and talk about current social issues from their perspective. In the episodes I will be uploading, you will listen to me talking, sometimes by myself and sometimes with others, about topics like racism, mental health, sexism, islamophobia, and A LOT more.

The first episode is already up, and it's basically an introduction. Obviously, it's not near perfect and will never be, mainly because I struggle with English (it's not my first language), but I'll try to improve it each week.

I hope you like the idea and that you follow me on this journey! I'm so happy that you're even here, so thanks!!
