The news about Ime is tough because his offensive and defensive schemes almost led to the Celtics hoisting up a trophy last season. There’s a lot of rumors, and nothing is confirmed, but it’s tough to see a first year black coach be held to a higher standard when there have been cases of these accusations across the league for years, at all positions and levels of power. Not excusing what’s being rumored, because it’s unprofessional and irresponsible. Now a young team that has championship aspirations has another hurdle to overcome when trying to take the next step in their development. Joe Mazzulla is very respected and had a big part in their defense, so he should do a great job coaching this team, but It definitely will not be the same. Real tough blow for Boston and Ime.

Spida to the Cavs is lit. Have to give Cleveland’s new group of running basketball operations a lot of credit. A team that essentially was in shambles before and after Lebron, struck gold in the draft, and traded for two key young pieces in Jarret Allen and now Spida. This was the young team to watch last year, and will continue to be the young team to watch moving forward with a legit superstar coming to town. Playoff team next year for sure. Great move.

Seeing Gobert dip out has been what I’ve been asking the Jazz to do for a few years. I’ll stand on this thought, and f**k the analytics on this… Gobert’s defensive impact isn’t strong enough to warrant him being on the court down the stretch, unless he’s surrounded by more offensive talent. Teams have went 5 out, and completely exposed him. The Jazz either 1) needed a small ball mobile 5 that can jump in and man down the paint and still be mobile or 2) move off of him and go completely offensive (Ayton, Siakam, etc.) Now, the Jazz are letting It be known Spida is on the market? Complete rebuild since the Jazz finessed the T Wolves? S**t.. his asking price is probably less than KDs, so any team in the KD sweepstake should be in the Spida sweepstake. Heat, Philly, Mavs, and Toronto are great spots for him that become legit contenders if they scoop him up. Of course we’re going to hear about the Knicks… don’t do It bro 😂

This will be an interesting backcourt, I have mixed feelings. I think Trae is on his way to being recognized as the best point guard in the league within the next few years because of his shot making, playmaking and swag, which a lot of his point guard peers don’t have. What he lacks defensively, Murray can compliment and guard the teams best point guard. Trae is also dynamic enough to play off ball when Murray has the ball. I wouldn’t want anyone taking the ball out of Traes hand until they proved they were an elite shot maker as well, and I’m not sure if Dejounte has proved that for me yet. He’s also going to have to improve as a shooter because he won’t have the ball as much as he did on the Spurs. Regardless, the Hawks get better with this move, and I’m excited to see how this young backcourt grows together.

I’m tired of talking about where Beal goes, cus he just ends up deciding to stay on the Wizards lol. He’s a 3 level scorer, and can take a championship contention team to a championship favorite. Because of his 3 level scoring ability and ability to play both on ball and off ball, he can fit seamlessly into almost any offense as the leading scorer, or a complimentary scorer. With that being said, imo, best spots for him to win right away as the teams are currently constructed - Heat (for Herro, + players & picks) Philly (for Tobias + pick?), and Lakers (for Westbrook) but there’s no going wrong with his type of talent on a team. He’d also fit very well on the Mavs with Luka, Atlanta as a primary scorer with Trae, Nuggets (for MPJ if they don’t want to deal with his injuries) as a perimeter threat, and Portland with what they’re cooking up over there. Curious to see what he does for like the 4th time we’ve heard his name in the mix and hopefully it’s not the Wizards again 😂.

Love what both these teams are doing, especially the Pistons. They’re building around Cade, who’s a big guard that can also play some small forward, by keeping his shooter (Saddiq), and drafting another combo guard that plays at a faster more athletic pace (Ivey), and a defensive big (Duren). All the pieces are fitting well together plus they have enough cap space to either fill out this roster with solid veteran presence, or swing for the fence with a big signing like a superstar and/or Ayton. The OKC Thunder.. i love the core of SGA, JG, and Chet, but I really need them to make a move. They’ve only been out the playoffs for two year, but It seems like much longer since they’ve really made some noise. Chet, seems like more of a long term investment because of his body type, as opposed to some more NBA ready rookies. I’m not sure how long the timeline is, but sooner or later, OKC will have to pay some of these guys and they don’t need to see a young core broken up too early again lol. The amount of picks they have in the next few years is actually ridiculous and I’d love to see em make some moves for em to get some young talent another team is looking to get off of. Ayton and John Collins come to mind this year which is probably less likely than looking at next year, as the Spurs, Hawks, and Grizzlies are some teams with young cores that’ll have to start making some tough decisions money wise.

There’s a few things I personally don’t like about this Kyrie situation. Kevin Durant, despite being the realest dude between himself, Kyrie, and James Harden may be put in an awkward situation because of the two guys he decided to play with. Imo, the Nets need to give Kyrie the max, but I understand why they may be hesitant to do so. He has missed way more games than he has played since he’s been there, and he just isn’t reliable. However, if KD, Kyrie and Ben Simmons are all healthy, they have a chance to compete for a chip. If they let Kyrie walk, unless they consult with KD and get a package back that still keeps the team competitive, then KD’s most likely leaving. KD has about 3 years left of his prime and I need to see him compete for a chip because you already see these suckas trying to invalidate his accomplishments as one of the best talents we’ve ever seen, and it’s sickening. No time to be f**king around with this championship window. Y’all think Kyrie is dipping? If so, does KD leave? And if he does leave, what team can put a package together to go trade for him and make a championship contending team with him?

And Steph did It. Tatum was not ready for the moment tbvh, but all credit to Steph for taking what the defense gave him. They played drop, he gave em 40, they played up on him he dished out assist and let the game come to him, and in turn, It let Wiggins, Klay, Poole and Draymond come into their own last game, which led to them playing well as a unit this game. Basketball is about momentum and i felt the momentum shift after the Warriors won a game they should not have won and tied the series at 2-2. From there, It was experience and the Warriors, especially Steph showed It. Their confidence never wavered and they handled the Celtics these last two games very comfortably, while the Celtics continued to struggle holding on to the ball and getting good shots. Congrats to them boys, they did their thing 🫡🤧

Not much to say here. The Celtics have been disappointing and i learned my lesson. Some teams just have championship level DNA and some teams don’t. This series is by no means over, but my confidence in the Celtics has wavered because they haven’t done the things I thought they’d be able to do. They turn the ball over way too much, which leads to easy buckets, they’re not aggressive enough at all inside, and they have not been efficient in the half court at all. Yes, you can credit the Warrior defense, but some of these turnovers are unforced and some of these shots are straight up bad looking shots. And we’ve seen that with players who just are not ready for the moment. This is a young team, so I’ll cut them some slack, but I’m hoping for a way better performance for the Celtics last home game of the season. 🫡

Game 5, winner of this game wins the series 73% of the time. Tatum has been relatively quiet while the Celtics have let Steph erupt. Regardless of how defense is being played, Tatum needs to step up. If Tatum wants to get to that elite superstar level some are putting him at, he needs to perform like a young KD (against the Heat), a young Kobe (during his 3pt), or a young Wade (06 champ), and prove that even though it’s his first time, he’s not shying away from the moment. The Warriors win this game if Steph continues to be Steph and another player steps up. I think this game we see more of the defensive looks they threw at Steph to contain his 21 pt first quarter in game 1, so when Steph doesn’t have the same open looks, Klay, Wiggins and Poole will have to step up. If If Tatum is aggressive and scoring from the mid range and imposing his will, the open looks will come for Smart, Horford and White. JB can impose his will the same way and we’ve seen JB do his thing for the most part, but i want to see more from Tatum, respectfully.

Things to watch out for game 4… The Celtics are great at bouncing back, but horrible at winning back to back games. Granted, the Bucks and Heat imo are tougher teams than the Warriors, the challenge still presents itself. The Celtics need to come out as if this is a game 7 and capitalize on home court. They often come out flat and that’s just some young inexperienced s**t. The Celtics need to limit the unforced turnovers. A lot of times their players don’t drive with intention and they end up giving the ball up easy. Another thing to watch for is Draymond Greens play. I mentioned in my post about what GSW would need to do to win is aggression from the roller in PnR situations. If Draymond is going to be on the court, he needs to be a threat at the basket, or a threat to hit an open 3. He does way too much talking to have 2 points in a finals game. Lastly, i need to see GSW switch up the offense. I think the Celtics have GSW figured out and i would love for GSW to figure out ways to create more half court offense through Wiggins or Poole to allow Curry and Klay to play a brand of basketball that’s better for their skill sets. Curry get his points off of 3s the Celtics are letting him walk into. There’s a difference between that and getting into the middle of the defense to force the Celtics to collapse in the half court. That’ll open up 3s for the others and that’s how role players catch rhythms that last the whole game. Lastly, GSW needs a spark. Wiggins, Poole, or one of the young guys needs to be that. Celtics have too much fire power right now.

04/06/2022

I don’t like to use peoples insecurities against them, but I think this is a real thing for Tatum. Last night, the 13 assist were amazing for a star player who doesn’t have It going, but it’s another thing to air ball 3s and miss wide open shots you make 9/10 times. I think being in his first Finals @ the Warriors def got to him and Brown, but Brown kept shooting. Despite Tatum’s awesome games, Jaylen Brown is the player that leads ALL players in the playoffs in fourth quarter scoring. If the Celtics are truly going to win this series, Tatum needs to be the best version of himself. He needs to drive with intention to score and put more pressure on the Warriors because they’ll adjust and not send as many bodies his way if he’s not going to be aggressive. The ‘others’ had their game last night and we’re going to need a Tatum game or two at some point cus that’s just how this s**t goes 😁.

03/06/2022

Tatum had a horrible game - he looked scared. That’s why i noted i was scared of the experience the Warriors had versus Tatum and Brown being in their first finals. Brown stepped up with a strong double digit 4th quarter and of course Al Horford being a veteran and White stepped up huge. Steph having 21 in the first was due to them not hedging off the picks and Steph had open looks. As soon as the Celtics adjusted to playing up on the screen, Steph scored only 13 in 3 more quarters. This was a bad game for the Warriors to lose because a young team will only gain more confidence as the series goes on, especially when they touch their home court!

My pick to win It all… the Celtics. Look back at my previous posts for what each team would need to do to win. I just don’t think the Warriors have enough. Aside from the Nuggets series, i don’t believe they won any series in a convincing enough fashion for me to definitely say the Warriors have It clicking this year. Ja averaged 38 against em, and his shot isn’t the strongest. The Warriors will struggle to protect the rim, especially with Bostons length, we saw them struggle against the Grizzlies in that same regard. Defensively, the Grizzlies also made It hard on Steph and Klay during key stretches of the game to keep the game within reach, EVEN when Ja was off the court. The Celtics have been playing the best defense in the playoffs and have the DPOY to be physical with Steph, which will definitely affect him. And lastly, the Celtics offensively have all the tools. Luka was doing anything he wanted and his teammates missed OPEN 3s. The one game Dallas won, they hit their open shots. JT and JB will probe the same way, and I’m way more confident in the Celtics role players to hit shots. I also think JTs, JBs, Horford and Grant Williams defense will slow down Wiggins, Poole, and Klay who’s been struggling all playoffs. All this + better coaching has me more confident in the Celtics, DESPITE GSWs experience. The Celtics are battle tested this year and won TWO game 7s. They’re my pick to win It all. 😁

Part 2 -the Warriors. In order for the Warriors to win this series they need to make shots. Lmao, but this is a real thing. Boston will probably throw traps at Steph and Klay coming off screens and force Poole or Wiggins to beat them. Wiggins has thrived as a 3rd and 4th option because of that and has made his shots so far. But that was against weaker defensive teams. Luka guarding Wiggins isn’t a threat. But JT and JB are different threats as the a 3rd defender is different. This Boston team is mobile, they’ll close out on the open shooter, which means Wiggins and Poole will have to put the ball on the deck and make plays. There’s a lot of pressure on them to not look like liabilities. The Warriors win if Wiggins and Poole keep the Celtics from consistently trapping Curry off picks and off ball action and they allow Curry to do what Curry does early in the shot clock or for stretches during games. The screeners for Steph and Klay have to be aggressive offensively, which means we’ll probably see a lot of Curry/Wiggins PnR instead of Curry/Draymond. That keeps the pressure on the Celtics to not be able to double team / trap off the action. Boston is physical, the Warriors will need to trim the turnovers down since they seem to give up the ball at the worst moments. If they protect the ball and give It up to Draymond early to run Warrior style offense, they’ll win games. I also question their ability to close. I’ve seen Steph not score points in the last 5 minutes of a game after having a terrific game for all 3 quarters. I also question how clutch Tatum and Brown can be given how i saw Jimmy Butler out play both of them despite winning a game 7 prior. Basketball is a rhythm game, and if Curry, Klay, Wiggins, or Poole can get some easy drawn up plays in a close game in the fourth, then they become the closer for the night and that’s fine. I’d also give them the nod here since their core is more experienced and may figure things out as an experienced team down the stretch, but not having a legit closer in these situations might not be good. I think Warriors win if Klay is the best version of himself for the whole series and he hasn’t been so far in this playoffs.

Going to breakdown what each team needs to do to win - Part 1 😁. The Celtics defense is primed to slow down the Warriors. Why? Because they can switch everything from 1-5. GoldenStates death lineup makes them almost unguardable from the perimeter if the defense isn’t quick enough to get out to shooters who have mastered the art of off ball movement. Plugging in the DPOY, lengthy wings, and mobile bigs will make It harder for the Warriors to get up open shots, which is what Boston wants, because It creates a need for the mid range and slashing game. They rather Poole and Wiggins to beat them, or for Steph and Klay to beat them within the 3pt line where they aren’t the best at with pressure. Look at the toughest defensive matchup the Warriors had this postseason - the Grizzlies. The Warriors and specifically Steph struggled AT TIMES against the length and physicality that team brought. The Celtics bring that + more. Now look at every matchup the Warriors had. Jokic, averaged 31, Ja averaged 38.5 points before he got hurt, and Luka averaged 32. Let’s key in on the Mavericks and Grizzlies matchups. The Warriors struggled with elite players who can create their shots and get to rim. The problem with the Mavs is that every time he created, his team wouldn’t hit open shots. The problem with the Grizzlies is that Ja got hurt, and each game was still close (except for the one blowout game). Not only do the Celtics have an elite player in Tatum, but they have another elite player in Brown, and a great supporting cast that won’t miss open shots and opportunities like a young Grizzlies team or a wack Mavs supporting cast. The Celtics can play small ball better with Al Horford at the 5, and still be significantly bigger and lengthier than the Warriors, which means that they’ll probably struggle in the paint and give up boards unless they go for a bigger lineup with Looney. Problem with that is that takes minute es away from how they want to play with Draymond at the 5 to push the pace. This also means that this will become a half court game, and I’m more confident in Tatum and Brown to create shots in the half court than Steph and Klay. Just my opinion tho 😁

Who wins tonight? Without Herro, and Jimmy Butler’s knee problems, i don’t think the Heat have enough scoring output. The Celtics are home and i think they use the home momentum to come out the gate early. I expect a good first half from the Jays and if they start off hot, then the rest of the team will follow.

22/05/2022

Bam playing like this is a key to Miami winning this series. He keeps Al Horford honest and at times might even make him unplayable if It looks like he can’t keep up with Bam’s mobility. It’ll force other players on the Celtics to hedge more and that’ll create lanes and openings for other Heat players to score. Having Lowry was also a plus. The Heat won a grind it out game last night. Still need to see more from Herro tho.

So i watched the game late but wanted to make sure my analysis of Game 1 was on point as we get ready for game 2. The Dallas started off early jumping at Steph and Klay to get the ball out their hands, which left Andrew Wiggins wide open to hit 3s. That contribute to his great first half. Then after they realized that wouldn’t work, they stopped trapping and Steph and Klay dominated late 2nd and early 3rd. I don’t think Dallas has an answer for the GSW offense unless DFS commits to trying to slow down Steph or Klay straight up on man to man defense. They need to switch everything and not allow Steph to get open off the ball. If Wiggins and Poole continue to make their shots, no shot for Dallas. GSW played a 3-2 zone which gives up the corner 3. Nobody on Dallas seemed to be able to knock down an open bucket. If GSW goes into that zone again to try to make It hard for Luka to pe*****te, then Jason Kidd needs to go to guys like Bertans earlier to keep GSW honest. Excited to see how this game plays out, because I’m curious to see how J Kidd and the Mavs adjust to a blowout game 1 loss.

20/05/2022

Great bounce back by the Cs. Marcus Smart was elite tonight and JT and JB played well early to set the tone. The Celtics defense can be just as good as the Heat, so they held everyone outside of Jimmy to calm games. Herro needs to be better, Bam needs to be better, and Oladipo need to be better, simple as that. Like previously mentioned, they will not win this series if the above guys do not match the scoring output that JT, JB and Smart bring. Simple as that.

Excited to see this matchup because I’m curious to see how the stars play in this matchup. Imo, Luka is the best player on the court. However, given this matchup, and the way the Warriors play, Steph has the opportunity to shine more if he’s hitting shots. I have to give credit to Dallas and Jason Kidd for his mid series adjustments, and i think they’ll have a game plan for neutralizing either Steph or Klay, but I stay concerned about the others abilities to step up consistently. I think because the Warriors play small, Brunson and Dinwiddie should have a great show out, but if GSW gets hot, they get hot… and i don’t think the Mavs have enough to keep up with that fire power yet. I think i give the slight edge to the Warriors to win this series, but that’s only because GSW have not gotten hot yet. It would be Warriors fashion to pick up the intensity in this series to touch the Finals. Regardless, the winner of this series is losing to whoever they see in the East barring injury.

This is going to be a grind It out series. Looking at both teams, i feel like they’re almost evenly matched. I’d give the Celtics the edge offensively in terms of star power and the Heat the edge defensively. However, I feel like the Heat have more reliable scorers. To better explain, i think Tatum is the best scorer in this series. I think JB and Butler can be a toss up on any given night, but Jimmy Butler has been playing out of his mind this playoffs, so hopefully he keeps It up. After JB, I’d probably prefer Herro, Oladipo, and Lowry before anyone else on the Celtics. Fortunately, it’s the playoffs and depending on the flow of the game, two elite scorers (JT and JB) is enough to win a playoff series because rotations and minutes are tighter. This series is the Heats to lose. If they depend one of the stars enough to slow em down, i don’t think the rest of stars will be able to step up like how they did against the Bucks because Coach Spo is a better coach, and the Heat play a more disciplined level of defense. Also, the Heat will need Oladipo and Tyler Herro to be co-stars alongside Jimmy to match the scoring output JT and JB will have. If they do the above things well, they win the series. If not, Celtics will be representing the East & most likely will be winning the chip. My pick? I got Celtics, but this can go either way and should be a fun series to watch.

16/05/2022

I’m still in awe over last nights L for the Suns. Not because of the Mavs winning, but how they won. Damn near 40 points? Top young talent in Booker and Point God CP literally did not come to play. Luka posting up Ayton? This is why I always left a sliver of hope for teams like the Lakers because if this team was able to win 64 games and to be the powerhouse team of the West, then the West is weak. Ayton, to be very honest, is soft and a huge reason why they couldn’t capitalize on the finals last year. He doesn’t play big enough, and going out and getting a Javele Mcgee doesn’t help if Ayton is still going to play majority of the minutes at the Center spot. The Suns don’t have a dominant interior presence on both sides of the ball with Ayton as their center. CP didn’t not show up after game 2, and i really don’t know why. Age? Was he hurt? Was It really the defense J Kidd had his Mavs playing on him? If that’s the case, there’s no reason for CP to have 8 turnovers in a half as a Point God. And my boy Booker 🤦🏾‍♂️. For him to get to the next level, he needs to get stronger. Devin Booker is all finesse right now, with a beautiful game, but he doesn’t have the bump and grind that a Tatum (or even Luka) has. He’s the closest thing to young Kobe in terms of skill set, but he doesn’t have the athleticism that Kob had. To combat his lack of athleticism, he’s going to have to get stronger to impose his will when the shots aren’t falling. That’s getting to the Free Throw line and that’s attacking the basket, because the Mavs were out there playing 5 out with no true interior presence. This is so crazy.

Simple as that, embarrassing. They did not go out gunning and looked like they weren’t strong enough for a game 7 as a unit. That’s coaching, that’s a lack of confidence, etc. Mavs Vs Warriors is going to be a lit series

15/05/2022

The 3rd quarter is where this game opened up. The Celtics did exactly what i thought they would do. They played through JT and JB and their role players stepped in and made shots. The Bucks played a good brand of basketball too. Utilized their length, had Lopez play big, and generated a lot of open 3s. The difference was that the Celtics role players hit their shots, and the Bucks role players didn’t. That’s part of the home court advantage too. Tough L for the Bucks, but i feel like this L is more telling about the type of coach Bud is. That shouldn’t have happened to this team.

Suns / Mavs Game 7! This one is tough. Luka is a problem and he’s been dominating this series, especially when the Mavs play 5 out. Luka averages damn near 40 points when he’s facing elimination so expect a big game from him because he’s literally unguardable. The key for a Mavs win is what I highlighted before the series started, is whether or not his team is coming for the ride. Yes, part of It is on him to distribute and let others eat within their roles to catch a rhythm, but guys need to make shots tonight. We also need a Dinwiddie sighting, he’s been missing all playoffs and It would be nice for him to get a couple baskets to take some pressure off of Luka and Brunson. The Suns have home court and i think that matters because their role players will play better. We need Chris Paul to be Chris Paul, because he hasn’t been the last 2/3 games. Devin Booker needs to go out early and establish himself as the best scorer in this series. Monty should run action for him early to get buckets easy and establish a rhythm. Ayton needs to dominate. I’m tired of him playing small. There’s no way the Mavs should be able to get away with having Kleber at the 5 without Ayton stamping the game with 30-10. I think i lean Suns in this matchup, but i really want to pick the Mavs 😂.

Game 7! The best thing in basketball. If Middleton does not play today, then someone is going to need to step up with Giannis. The formula out the gate for the Bucks should be to establish Giannis in the interior. PnR where Giannis rolls to the basket to create open 3s for Grayson, Bobby, Pat, and Brook. I also think the Bucks should mix in some Brook Lopez as a true 5 when Giannis is off the court to keep the length and pressure on a small Celtics team. Focus on getting the bigs in foul trouble so down the stretch Giannis can go crazy with little defensive pressure. For the Celtics to win this game… they need their stars to be stars. JT woke up last game and they’re going to need him + JB to close this out. Al Horford needs to continue to be poised as a primary defender on Giannis and I’d like for them to run some action through him in the half court since he is a great passer as all. I’d love to see some looks with him positioned at the top of the key looking for JT and JB movement. That takes Giannis (assuming he’s guarding him) away from the rim so JT and JB can get up there. I see the Celtics taking Giannis off the dribble way too much and It doesn’t result in much because Giannis is clamps 😂. I think i got Celtics though because of Homecourt advantage, but i wouldn’t be surprised to see It go the other way. Who y’all got?

This duo needs to be broken up and I’ve said It for a couple of years now in various ways. In my honest opinion, i think Spida should play the 1. He can torch like Dame and Jamal Murray. I don’t think Rudy Goberts defense outweighs how much of an offensive liability he is in the playoffs, especially in todays game. Teams will just go 5 out and make him look silly on the perimeter. The problem with Gobert is that he isn’t above the rim athletic like Deandre Jordan in his prime or even Clint Capela, so he isn’t that much of a lob threat. Gobert needs to be on a team where he can be subbed in and out depending on the matchup, but his contract is tough to take on. If the Jazz end up trading Spida, the Heat would be an amazing team for him to go to. Philly and Atlanta are already good options. Lakers…? 👀. Lol what y’all think?

The Warriors are going to win this game but i hope everyone sees the glaring weaknesses with this team that I’ve been talking about all season. This is a championship/veteran team, and they honestly don’t look that way at times. High turnovers, bad shot selection and they don’t have a legit closer to rely on. This series should not have been competitive imo, and the only reason why they probably one is because Ja was out + Memphis’s frontcourt is not mobile. Kevon Looney out hustled em for 20+ boards (what the f**k?). Whoever they match up against in the WCF will beat em, I’m almost positive.

Had the Celtics winning this series and I’ll stick by It. The Celtics let a few games slip and i think that comes with the growing pains of a young team, but they showed out this game. Tatum was a star throughout and Jaylen Brown turned up the whole 3rd quarter. Giannis is great, but if the Celtics can stop the others from going off, let Giannis score half that teams points. Boston is going to be rocking for game 7.
