The race was so fast that she finished 4th in her heat. It was good enough to guarantee her a spot on the train to the NCAA Championships, joining her training partner Rosemary Chukwuma, who ran a PB of 10.88s at the same meet.

She'll head to the NCAAs as Nigeria's only female athlete in the horizontal jumps.

Meanwhile, Chidozie Kalu 🇳🇬 of Virginia Tech also advanced in the men's Triple Jump with a 15.79m (+0.7) leap at the East Regionals.

Goodness Iredia swept to a second-round 7.75m (+0.2) in the men's Long Jump at the NCAA East Prelims, finishing 3rd to punch his ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Championships!
In the same lane, Charles Godfred landed 7.80m (-0.5) at the West Prelims to qualify as well.

The pair are the best Nigerian Long Jumpers this year, having jumped Personal Bests of 7.94m and 8.14m respectively.

He defeated Saminu Abdul-Rasheed 🇬🇭 who had to settle for 2nd in 10.32s.

Favour Ashe 🇳🇬 would also follow that up with a win in his heat, clocking 10.35s into a stiff 2.5m/s headwind.

Godson Brume 🇳🇬 also finished 2nd in his heat, running 10.32s (-1.0) and will move on into the quarterfinals.
