Right now millions of Americans are working the frontlines of the covid pandemic. The corporations that employ them hide behind a systematic narrative, similar in structure to a cult, to ensure their employees remain at work, even as it becomes clear their safety and their lives are at risk.
American essential workers have faced harassment from both customers and managers, while most of them are offered nothing that keeps them safe.
In journey to the end, we will meet Americans on the frontline of the pandemic. Americans afraid that any day they’ll contract a potentially fatal virus, all for a salary that keeps them at or near the poverty line. By bringing their stories to light, essential workers will enlighten us as we explore the world of retail and the corporate environment, providing listeners a deeper understanding of what it’s like to be on the frontlines during a national emergency.
