People don’t tend to believe in Jesus because they’re grateful to have been spared suffering. They believe because they suffer.

But not because of rescue from their worldly suffering. Rather, because of the miracle of spiritual rescue, which transcends worldly measure.

If you have ever met someone who continues to follow Jesus in the midst of their own suffering, you have met someone with a special depth of understanding of the Way, Truth and Life.
